its not the comments andy, its the spamming of the forum dragging up loads of old posts, thats what annoyed me when i log in to 2 pages of bumped posts from bob hope. thats what i mean stopping, cutting it short.

i never said the mods dont do a good job, but they cant be here 24/7

its simple:
if some makes a post in an attempt to wind up or spam the forum ignore it and it will quickly become buried.
if some one bumps loads of old threads we all have the ability to go and bump back the ones we want to have at the top. it's no more work than having super special agent powers, we can all do it, and its a lot less open to abuse.

Is there not some way to lock threads of a certain vintage? That way they couldn't be bumped up and be used to spam the New Posts board. If a non-WUM wanted to drag up an old post because it is funny or relevant (like Red Baron did with the elastic alice band thread) they could appeal to a Mod for an amnesty. Or we could have a thread called "classic threads", where links to old--but now locked--beauties could be provided and commentaries made etc. Just a thought?

Time to perhaps reassess the MOD nightshift . Big Mick was recently sworn in (a popular choice) as living in NZ he could/would be able to log in during the wee small hours (gmt) and keep half an eye on things . Big Mick hasn't logged in snce march 4th and last night we had new "members" SHEKEMFROMAKBAR and ILOVEMYBABY who registered with us and immediately set about posting nothing but links to hardcore porn sites . Our forum has been used for many things but this marks a new low .

Time for the mods to sort out the nightshift .

(No disrespect to Big Mick who is still settling into his new life in NZ)

I think its time we gave peewee and Lando the power to delete posts between midnight and 6am. This is when the WUM's seem to come on and no mods are around.

A lot of sites now use an activation code to keep out the t0ssers. Could we not try it?

There's far to many bellends posting on here lately, thankfully i miss most of them as i don't post overnight . It must be a real pain in the rectum for those who do.

Actually Igor it is a pain in the rectum, especially overnight GMT. I sit here and watch the forum get spammed over a period of half-an-hour. And theres nothing no-one can do. So I resort to a bit of verbal abuse at them, thats all I can do which doesnt help atall but still.
