if they could train lol y couldnt they play the match i dont get that do u ??? lol

The training will only be running, and maybe a little match etc.

but the match cant go on cos the referee wont be able to see his linesman or if the ball is hit high from a kickout, none will be able to see it until it gets  in a small distance,at the top of the stadium you can't see either so what good is it to the fans

I can't believe they cancelled the game for that. Don't forget we'd be playing with a yellow ball aswell.

welsh wizzard wrote:Its a right pisserrrrr. But hey got to feel sorry for these gunner fans who left this morning to travel up. Then get to within an hour or so of the game for it to be called off.

I know if i had travelled down there and it happened to me i would be well peeed off.

It's happened to me twice mate. The Wolves Premiership game a couple of seasons ago was called off within 90 mins of Kick Off but perhaps worse than that was the diabolical FA Cup tie against Burnley in 2005 when we were walking up to the ground only to be told it was off.

Burnley FC left it as late as possible NOT because of concern for the fans who had travelled to the game but because they were desperate for their 30 pieces of silver from SKY (Well 150 K to be precise)  ??? who were showing the game.

I was non plussed to say the least when their Chief Executive came on the Radio not to apologise to the fans for their wasted journeys but to beg SKY to consider showing the rearranged fixture  ???

We eventually did play (and lost) the rearranged fixture thanks to a Traore OG and Nunez getting sent off. Looking back we actually played better in the postponed fixture ! :D

Look how clearly you can see the stewards who were what? 30 yards away. I dont see how the refs could have a problem seeing the players on the pitch

ian did you go to the luton game in the 80s at anfield, i went but it was called off as luton failed to turn up. it had already been postponed once. i remember it was a night game and led to the FA making clubs travel the day before a game if they are over 50 miles from the ground

I vaguely remember that game Peter............

It was a LONG tiem ago.

In my post I was referring to travelling to Away games of course but I also remember the Merseyside Derby being postponed about 5 or 6 years back due to a waterlogged pitch.

We were driving up the game wondering why everyone seemed to be walking "Away" from Anfield !  :D
