Should we rotate the goal keeper too?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I know it's still early in this new season. But, most of the time early season wins help out a lot as we do not have to struggle in keeping up with the league leader. I'm not pointing finger to the Goal Keeper for the losses, as we lose as a team + fans all over the world.

However, I think it's one of the worst start for our Goal Keeper so far compared to other depts. I think our front liners have been showing positive signs and a serious threat to the opponents.

Should we rotate the Goal Keeper also for team competitiveness??? Can we rotate Dudek with Reina?

Why?

As far as goalkeepers go.. Reina is still the first option and Dudek the second.

Taking into account the fact that these are times when some fans are calling for Rafa's rotation to stop.

..and now you want to sub the keeper too?

The only time Reina should be taken off the team sheet is if he's out injured or its a Carling Cup game or (please forbid) a costly blunder.

We know the extent of Reina's ability.. no?

He should not be taken off.

i agree with Anti-hero, Reina is doing fine, he is good of his line, only change keeper if he gets injured.

I'd say no, I feel sorry for Reina cos the lad make a couple of mistakes earlier in the season but since he's played well, in yesterdays game he was robbed with the lines mans ruling, I know his dicission to dive left for the free kick was a let down but the lad hasn't made half the mistakes Dudek has, people should keep faith in him stop being so fickle, after all Cara made mistake against Everton and no one is on his back!! :;):

Maybe yes.. Let Reina rest and think abt it.. He's the last man on the pitch.. Maybe, he can give some instructions to the back 4.. The last 3 games where he concede, most of them are headers.. Opponents will see that Liverpool is the most vulnerable to crosses as Reina seems to rely on Carragher, Agger and Hyypia.. Cheers..

Add Reina's present problems to his blunders in the cup final (and yes, I know he saved the penalties, but they were really :censored: penalties). I don't see there is much difference if Reina or Dudek plays as they are both prone to howlers. However, if Reina makes anymore errors I'd say it's time to give Dudek a run out.

reinas a much better keeper than dudek. which 9 out of 10 people were saying untuil he made a couple of mistakes now its back to dudek! defenders need stability an to know their goalkeeper and what he can do! so by changing that just confuses the back line in my opinion. wouldnt mind he didnt even have a bad game yesterday but a bad decision went against him, hardly his fault is it! you lot are as fickle as the bitters who were callin for david moyes head!

Yes, I think it's time to give Reina a rest and give Dudek a run. Reina is a good keeper but he's going thru a bad patch now, so it would be better for the whole team as well as for himself if he's rested now. I know I'll get it from some of u when I say this, some of the goals which were conceded are saveable and this is something which irks me the most. It's time for Dudek to step up just for a change of luck.

how many times does this have to be explained before it sinks in?

forget the bad decision, that desicion is not responsible for him hiding behind his wall, h blundered then as opposed to the hand ball incident.

or are we saying its ok to not defend if a bad decision goes against us

No, what we are saying is that a player can lose all his credit in some games, which is worrying. ???

i dont think anyone is saying he is a bad keeper mate, but his form is not good at the moment and i think the uncertainty in the defence is down to him.

a keeper has no hiding place sabre, if he makes mistakes they are obvious to everyone, like when dudek made a few mistakes. dudek is paying for those mistakes now by being our second choice keeper, reina also needs to be held accountable, its not just a one off mistake, the mistakes are building up
