Do we have to like our players? - Here me out please!

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I was thinking about this today and talking to a mate about it!

Personlly i always hated Craig Bellamy throughout his playing career!
He has been an argumentative little shi.te everywhere he has been!
At every club he has played he has caused trouble either by falling out with team mates, coaching staff or mostly managers!
It cant be a coincedence that people keep falling out with him can it?

Dont get me wrong,so far his effort has been good and he has been working hard at settling in.This thread is not about his ability though!

Its just today i bet my mate £20 that he would not be an LFC player in 2 seasons time. His record suggests that!

I find it hard to like him no matter how much LFC mean to me.The only thing that changes this is that when he pulls of the shirt he is one of ours and i respect this!

What do you all feel about Bellamy?

Personally i think he's a ticking bomb and its only a matter of time before he falls out with somone at the club,he seems to have a vindictive personality!

And please save all the 'how dare you slate one of ours' cause i dont care!I also love LFC as much as anyone else on here...as i said above its just what i've been thinking.

Can the leopard change its spots?

Will Bellamy settle in?

Has he matured enough to hold his tongue?

One things for sure Raffa wont take no sh.it and any acrobatics he'll be out on his ear pronto if his past ways return!
Hopefully the lad settles in and proves me wrong,i know where my money is though!

Thoughts y'all?

I couldn't agree more - Bellamy (along with Robbie Savage) is probably the hardest player in the Premiership to like

if he gets us 20 goals a season then we'll all accept him

but if he starts acting up again and doesn't do the business on the pitch, he wont last 2 seasons

You guys are just paranoid.

Give the guy a chance.

Its disappointing when you think about it.

ONE lousy rumour is all it takes for people to lose faith in Bellamy.

I don't want to comment anything about him right now because it's too early to say IMO and the fact that LFC is alot different than any other clubs that he has been in his career, so things may change, who knows.

Btw, title of this thread is a bit misleading. At first,I thought what the hell has happened to Barry.  :D
Anyways, shouldn't it be 'Do we have to like Bellamy?'

Thats your view mate, an your intitled to it.

But since Bellamy came here, every thing thats come out off his mouth has impressed me.  I personnaly judge him from his time with us not before us.

Its his last chance and if he fucks up he is out, no more big clubs no more big times. He knows this so I think he will be a bit more well behaved.

Personally I never did like him but he plays for us now so he is on probation

He had alot of trouble at Newcastle but at what other clubs did he fall out with everyone ?
I have been impressed with his attitude so far, he has been left out in big games that he would of hoped to start and seems to have got on with it. And despite his struggles (goals wise) he hasnt given up, he also applauded the fans when he came off against Spurs despite his bad miss.

Made up with him so far, and cant wait for the goals to start flowing for the lad.

That's a question I asked myself after knowing some of his background so thank you for raising it.

I think that people at LFC would calculate the risks, wouldn't they? I also think all this reputations are many times exagerated. To be honest I knew little about him, so I hadn't prejudices, only what I have read from you mates. I'm not concerned so far.

Put it this way, if you were in a dressroom with Gari Neville wouldn't it be likely to punch him at some point? :D meaning, new club, new players, there hasn't to be problems necessarily. I think he deserves the benefit of the doubts, so I'm not worried.
