when momo can lead the whole club to greatness with simply the desire to win then he will be as good a midfielder as gerrard

it is not as simple as comparing ground covered and tackles won or any other stat , there are some midfielder that were born to lead, souness, kean, viera etc etc they are different from your jamie rednapps because of the desire to win mixed with quality

we are lucky that in the centre we have xabi, SG, and momo to chose from or play together, best midfield in the league!!!!!! i can't see a team with youth and that much quality not even chavski

Hes a very good player and will come better with age!!

But i dont think he can be compared to S/G or ever will! He's a totally different type of player.
Sissoko is more in the Viera and Keane type style,in saying this he's not of their quality yet.
Hes more of a break it up type and hold posession!

Stevie is more of an attacking m/f who has everything to his game.Sissoko will never be of this type or score as many goals!

Saying that hes a very good player at what he does and will be very important for LFC in times ahead.Hes been a great signing!!

Sissoko won't win you games or provide the breakthrough needed... Gerrard will.

I can't believe that anyone is even suggesting Sissoko should be in the team before Gerrard - unless Gerrard is injurred or off form.

Sissoko isn't even half the player that Gerrard is, he is just very good at the role that he is used in.

Whats even more frightening is it could have been a bluenose coming on here asking that question but for a late intervention from Rafa. Imagine Sissoko playing for them. On second thoughts dont!

Most of these threads are pointless TBH, its all peoples opinions. Talksport makes a living out of letting people talk a**** on their station :)

Sissoko is bigger and better than many realise.
He is a vital part of our "blend" that make even Morinho look with envious eyes upon our midfield and is he is one of the reasons we looked so strong defensively last season.

He is as good a midfielder as SG, but he doesn't score as often.
So SG maybe more vital at this time, certainly last year when we lacked up front.

I'd say different, maybe not better. He's quality though, glad he's a red.

gerrard is the better player but sissoko is a fantastic player he just needs to watch them fouls, that's his only problem

 rafa wants to play a 3-5-2 so all three will play

why do you think he added all that speed ???

                              god   bellamy/crouch
kewell/gonzalez                                            pennant

                        momo      xabi      stevie

              palletta/aggar    sammi         carra

                                    pepe

methinks this is really what rafa wants and gonzalez and pennant better learn to run cos they have alot of ground to cover and i really think this is tha way to win

nb: gonzolez  and pennant are really shown wrong but they need to get there

getting too carried away you guys ! if momo is as good as you all sseem to rate him, and if alonso is too, and riise...that other thread man ! someone said he was the best LB in the world i think, or better than ashley cole...means the same to me ! and finnan's one of the best RBs in the world...i mean ofcourse he is eh ?! and Gonzales...oh gonzales.... you dont even need to play to be seen as one of the left wings in the english league already ! bellamy ofcourse is our 25+ goals striker next season and crouch will continue his great form that got him 8 goals last season !
GET REAL !
we have a good squad and a great manager who fcks up alot less than others do !
Gerrard is a key player ! he is what has been driving this team forward when needs to ! dont compare him to sissoko ! he's a good player but is yet to prove he can go out there and be the man to win his club a game ! i mean... Gerrard can do it ! L.Garcia can do it ! thats about it ! We need a striker and we need one bad ! i know im a little out of bounds here but....yea....
Gerrard is better than sissoko ! If sissoko keeps playing and improving his game week after week next season... i think he has more to his game than X.Alonso does .. so yea..... i think Sissoko can develop into a better player than is Alonso ! not Gerrard though....too good and dont see it happening anytime soon !
Improtant thing is... as some said... we need to find a way to play all 3, yet still be able to attack with as many players as we can !
Im feelin funny today... sorry if what i wrote sounds weird !   :O

from the offal:

RAFA HAILS SISSOKO
Steve Hunter 12 August 2006

Rafael Benitez has hailed the talents of his midfield bargain Momo Sissoko and said he has all the attributes needed to become a world class player.
The Liverpool manager feels the Mali international is getting better with every game and added his signing has been a bargain in today's transfer market.

"Momo is a really good professional who shows all the people how committed he is every time he plays," enthused Benitez.

"He's the same in training as he is on the pitch. This is the kind of player I like and the supporters enjoy watching. When you have a good player who has a strong physical approach to the game, the fans are always happy.

"I hope he will improve even more. He knows he needs to improve when he is with the ball, but this is an area he practices every day. There are also tactical movements he needs to work on, and then he will be even stronger.

"You can pay big money for a player, but if that player is good enough it's good business - Xabi Alonso is a good example of this. He was expensive, but he's a very good player and nobody questions we were right to pay so much.

"But as a manager you're always trying to bring in players of a high quality at a good price, so in the case of Momo, it's fair to say I'm really happy with him."
