Would either of these be a better signing than Kuyt? Kuyt looks like another slow lumbering Crouch type player to me...

Given that Rafa seems to lower his standards slightly when signing British players, it wouldn't surprise me at all if we end up signing Ashton rather than a more highly rated foreign player...not that that would be a bad thing, he looks like a player of some potential, if you want to sign a target man who puts himself about and can score 15-20 league goals a season...

if ashton can score for west ham would certainly get goals for liverpool..was not impressed with kuyt in world cup..ashton must show something in england squad..

You can't judge Kuyt on the couple of performances where he was isolated on the wings for....Some strikers can work the wings (Henry/Bellamy) some can't. Kuyt seems a good old fashioned british style Centre Forward game based on presence and power as apposed to a playmaker.

Wouldnt mind seeing Dean Ashton at the club hes still young and looks like a tough forward who would get us goals.

In saying that i take it you are refering to Bellamy and Pennant??

So would you prefer a household name or perhaps a pinup,maybe David Beckham would please you...

As for your reference to Dirk Kuyt....he had a bad world cup!

I presume this is where you take your inaccurate judgements from...Two words 'Steven Gerrard'...he had a pretty sh.it world cup...hes not a bad player though!! :;):

Do a bit of research on Kuyt online,then you will see why hes wanted!!

As for Ashton...it wont happen mate!!

you cannot judge a player off just one or two poor performances . All the players from the dutch league have done very well in the premiership such as robben aand van nistlerooy and in the dutch league kuyt has been scoring 25 ish goals per season . sho he could bring his performances to england an may just be as big or better than van nistlerooy. we could have a 20 + striker in our hands here.

I agree you cant judge a player on a couple of performances but you usually can see from a couple of performances whether he has that extra bit of class or ability.

And Kezman wasnt a hit from Holland, also what about Erik Meijer didnt he play in Holland too :laugh:

if van horseface can score lots of goals in holland and the prem then i dont see whay kuyt cant he has very similar attributes . he runs and moves like him aswell :laugh:
