van horsface signed for manutd for 19mill and that was after he failed a medical (longterm knee injury!) ....we (mainly rafa) think that 10mill is too much for kuyt ! still think its the same ?!
i sure hope he scores as many goals for us if he signs as nistelrooy has to manutd ! would be great to finally have a decent finisher in our starting 11 ! i mean... someone who can compete for league topgoalscorer come the end of the season ! dont see any of our current players anywhere in the top 5... make that 10 !

the couple of times i saw martins play last year for inter he looked quite good, he's quick and can come up with some great finishes....Kuyt is the typical centre forward as someone mentioned and Ashton i dont think much of anyway so.....i guess it depends on what type of striker rafa wants to sign because they are all different in their own way.

Ashton, if you like that sort of thing (and I remain unconvinced at this stage) would cost considerably more than Kuyt if the Dutchman is available for 10 million. West Ham paid 7.5 million for him so would not be selling for much less than double that I wouldn't have thought. If you rated him, and not that many on here did before Pardew bought him then you really had to pick him up from Crewe to get the value.

Those in any doubt as to how much he would cost would do well to remember how much Man U had to go to in the transfer of Michael Carrick. 18.6 million for a good but not exceptional Premiership player (based on what he has shown sofar) put's it all in perspective.

As for Martins, once more for me it's a no. He is a lively player based on what I have seen but doesn't strike me as a player who will score regularly in the Premiership. No, if Kuyt is to be the man then so be it, let's go and get him before it's too late.

I totally agree with your assesment of Carrick, like Jermaine Jenas I cannot see why this player has been hyped up so much.

Just wait till Momo sends him up in the air in the first five minutes of our next game with the bucaneers

Ashton - I was always quite keen on him and he appears to be a lot slimmer now so he could be even better, however, I would much prefer Kuyt, he will cost less and although he seems to run around like a headless chicken he works very hard for the team and that will be one of the main things that Rafa will require

Its all about options with Rafa and I for one am looking forward to the new season

Oba Martins would be a great signing for us. All the people who say hes rubbish or 'slightly better than cisse' haven't seen him play.

i still like ashton above any of the afore mentioned players..apparently he has lost weight and training hard..i am not judging kuyt on world cup only have seen games on sky he is not what we need..as i said ashton scored at west ham end of last year after his transfer from norwich city,so without a dount in my mind he could score at the mightiest club in the world..come on liverpool do the chelski sc**..
