Sissoko....better midfielder than stevie g? - I think so!

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I think SG is still much better than Sissoko. Sissoko is a very very very good player but still lot more to learn. SG can defend,  pass, link and score goals. Whereas Momo is yet to score his first LFC goal (right?). But in 1-2 years, we can have the best midfield in the world (SG, Alonso, Momo - not to mention the new signings!).

He's only 20/21, has top drawer control, reading of the game, can break an oppositions play up, take players on, retain posession, and more! This guy's limits are endless.

Man of the match tonight. He was the only player who looked in control.

He is the next Patrick Viera. 2 season's from now, and we will have the best Midfielder in Europe!

Anyone Disagree or discussion...please comment.

I would agree with most of what you say....

except to say we have potentially the three greatest midfielders in Europe in Stevie,Momo and Alonso.

Exciting times ahead i reckon.

Sissoko better than Gerrard?

This is why people like yourself are devestated when we lose a certain game or fail to do something = ridiciliously stupid high expectations.

Sissoko better than Gerrard?  Let's talk after...

1) Momo's scored the goal that inspires the most dramatic comeback in Champions League history

or after...

2) Momo's scored a 30-yard cracker to bring us level in injury time of a cup final

Momo will grow more immense with each passing season but Gerrard still towers above him like a collosus in terms of what he's achieved in the game. :bowdown

I think a more adequate debate would be:

Will Sissoko ever be the influence, Hamman was?

Or will he better Der Kaiser?

The fact of the matter is you can't compare them, they play totally different roles.

Their strengths are totally different.

Where Sissoko is a natural ball winner, Gerrard is the creative engine of the team. Where Sissokos touch lets him down, Gerrard rarely makes a mistake. Where Sissoko has never scored a senior goal, Gerrard bangs them in for fun. Etc, etc, etc.

Flawed arguement. Sissoko may well be the new Vieira but who ever compared Gerrard to Vieira?

The whole notion of the thread is ridiculous. They play completely different roles which makes comparing them bordering on impossible, and Gerrard is the best midfield player in World football today in my opinion. So no, it's a daft topic on every count and we still await a single sensible and credible contribution from it's starter.
