I remember when Gerard Houllier was asked about the 70's & 80's and that expectation and he replied. Where no longer in the 70's & 80's and went on to go on about how he was going to do things his way.

I agree, times have changed, by all means remember and look back on the golden years of Liverpool's history but don't live in the past.

A new stadium is a must, have you seen Arsenal's one? I'm jealous of it, and I would like to see us have one similar to that, however I'd like to have some of the characteristics of Anfield in the new stadium. For example, I'd like to see the new stadium (if we ever get it) called Anfield and house the same atmosphere.

We have a good squad, Rafa has bought in the right players, with the right attitudes and the hunger to win; I'd say we need a new striker as well someone who will give us more of an edge and an extra fraction of threat upfront.

David Moores & Rick Parry have proved down the years that they have Liverpool's best interests at heart. They could of made us a brand, a PLC, yet they have kept the tradition of Liverpool and kept it a Club. However if they do not have funds for the futures and they can't provide for the future of the club & help the club move forward then they need to step down.

I wouldn't like to see the club listed to be honest. I believe with a savy business/marketing strategy LFC can more that match other clubs through non-ticket sales. I like the fact that Liverpool has stayed true to its honest working roots. I wouldn't like the club to turn cut-throat to make sales.

LFC is already a brand, a very strong one at that. Its a brand that breeds strong loyalty. Its visual identity is very very recognisable, the intanglibles are easily articulated (every fan can state what LFC means to them) and most importantly it generates revenue. I think what you mean is, it could be a stronger brand. I don't disagree with so long as it doesn't sell its soul.

As for the stadium issue, and name, etc. I personally would like to see a new stadium, but the only peoples opinion who should count, IMO, are those that go every week.

I think Steve Morgan would help the club. He wants to give us money just for us to buy players. That would do me fine.

I live in a Steve Morgan (Whelmar/Redrow) built house unfortunately. I wouldnt want him in charge at Liverpool.

But it is the strength of Man Utds stock market listing that generates them extra profit each year, which in turn they continually spend on players. They spend too much on certain players but nevertheless they still can openly spend large sums of money on players, which Liverpool in comparison have been unable to do in recent years

The problem lies deeper than the sponsorship. I think Liverpool FC have to start seeing themselves not only as a worldwide brand but also as a business looking to make profit. I personally feel publically listing the club is a step in the right direction, once a base for regular money flow is established the club will begin to reap the rewards of have the 'extra' cash that the bigger clubs enjoy. Not to mention that fans like you and I can buy shares and begin to have a say in how the club should be run.

Nah not for me. At the end of the day, only one club has really made a success of being a Public Limited Company and they are we all know who they are. Maybe Spurs will be in the future.

Imo, the benefits of going public are dubious these days to say the least... unless you're able to sell stock to fans and save yourself from going into administration. We're at the other end of the scale.

Going public would mean that dividends would have to be paid out, meaning less money for team building and a restriction on transfer funds so as to increase profits. People whinge about our "limited spending" as it is.

A so called sports finance expert has just been questioned on SSN about take over bids for Villa and the barcodes. When questioned about the LFC financial backers he said we looked further than ever away from finding investors and that if the club did not obtain new investment to develop a new stadium etc we would no longer be able to remain in the so called "golden quartet".

Am I the only one who is more than a little concerned by this?

How would Morgan be a bad move for us. He was willing to give us money for transfers and build the new ground. So if that's a bad move, explain what is a good move.
