His workmate was ill, so he needed someone to help him, but as I'd never done it before, I had to do all the f*cking sh*t stuff like tw*tting metal into shape with a hammer and carrying 8'x5' plaster boards which weighed a f*cking ton!
Rather than telling how important is to study to your sons, I'd rather give all the lads "a chance" to work like you did. I'm sure that after two weeks of practice, they'd all pay more attention to their studies later.
Helping my dad to pick up fruits in his lands was the hardest thing I've ever done. Specially the vineyards are bástards, as you have to bend over and you end up with back pain. Only to realise that the guys that are paid to do that, pick up 10x what you have picked in the same time

At some point I decided that the books aren't that bad after all.
I remember aswell when he convinced me to pick up plums in August. Ok Daddy, I'll help you. I said. Idiot. I should have known better, as they must be picked at 6 am, because somehow it's bad to pick up them under a heavy sun.
But it was nice experience, I learnt to respect the people who earn their life that way and encouraged me to study.
Study guys, study, otherwise only cráp works will show up. Unless you're the son of a millionaire, needless to say.
