Cheyrou update

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Paul C » Tue May 30, 2006 9:40 am

BRUNO CHEYROU will head back to Anfield after Bordeaux decided against signing the outcast midfielder.

The 28-year-old has spent the last season on loan at the French club having been deemed surplus to requirements by Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez.

However, Bordeaux have chosen not to take up their agreed option of buying the player on a permanent deal worth around £2million.

Cheyrou, who still has a year left on his contract at Anfield, has no future at Liverpool and must now find another club.

He was bought for £4.5m from Lille by then manager Gerard Houllier in the summer of 2002, but struggled to make an impression and has not made a single competitive appearance under Benitez, who shipped the Frenchman out on loan to Marseille for the 2004-05 season.

Great, will we ever get rid of the sh!te Houllier left behind  :no

He'll end up being loaned out to another french club for the season, no one will pay a transfer fee for him.

As the "next Zidane", perhaps he'll do a Zidane and follow him into retirement! :p

perhaps one of the newly promoted clubs like Watford could buy him, even if we only get a million - it's something :(

Maybe after Rafa worked a little magic on Djimi he could spend some time on Bruno... neither are first team EPL standard, but as emergency squad players hopefully not on fantatstic wages, he could prove worthwhile. Then again, Bruno could always look at Open University and forge himself a new career, as the one he has in football seems to have hit a wee snag in that he can't play very well!! I say Open University as I get the impression he wont exactly be tasked for time back here in England
Stu Averill, a wannabe Scouse/Scot. I remember the good times & have faith in them comin back

Beside the Hillsborough Flame, I heard a Koppite mournin, "Why so many taken on that day?" Justice has never been done. But their memory we'll carry on. There'll be Glory Round The Fields Of Anfield Road

GH should be made by law to sign these players for Lyon. I wouldn't pick either of them for my 5 a side team and there's only 4 of us.
