Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Just to give you some news of Cheyrou as his recent performances deserve attention.
I saw him for his last two games and he did a tremendous job on the left wing. it seems that he s on his way to express all his skills. pace, inspiration, passing ...
good for you and our national team (as pires is on his way out)

2 games doesn't gloss over his failings at Liverpool, what's next? IF Diao has a couple of good games for Brum when he comes back from injury, people will be saying to bring him back? :O

I actually think Cherou never got a full crack of the whip at Liverpool so wont be too harsh on him! He did show glimpses of being very good, and maybe under Rafa could mature and improve! I do wish though that if LFC feel his not good enough then sell him rather then all the constant loaning we seem to do as a club!

im with redtribe on this one. his first touch of the ball with us won us a penalty and him an injury. houllier didnt use him well and he was injured. now we have benitez and hes not injured. dont see why we shouldnt bring him back for another go

Would love to see Cheyrou back at Anfield as I always saw him as a gifted and well visioned player. Hopefully his attitude's changed and Rafa recalls him as his skills could add another dimension to our play, with perhaps him and Kewell competing for the left wing spot (assuming Kewell's fit enough to compete).

It may be what Harry needs too, as atm he's competing with Riise and perhaps figures that when he's fit he'll walk back into the side again based on his reputation and Riise's reputation as a left back. I also like Riise at left back due to his grit and determination and his willingness to bomb forward, yet also willing to bomb back if need be.

Cheryou was bought to play down the left for us. But he stank big time. He is too slow to be a winger. Bringing him back to play left wing is a step back...... We need wingers like vicente or duff.

how can someone stink who is playing well in france and never got a chnace to play for us?
he was injured, never should have played the games he did and his confidence was shot.

ok rock, lets ask chelsea for duff.. much more realistic.
we arent a massive spending club, we dont have as much money as others.
why spend millions on someone when benitez can tap into cheyrous ability?

You really think cheryou can make a difference ?  I don't know. I thought he was pretty slow last season. If you thought hyppia was slow...........wat about cheyrou ?

Anyway if rafa wants to bring him back, he would have been here already. He would prob leave on a free next season.

Quote "I actually think Cherou never got a full crack of the whip at Liverpool so wont be too harsh on him! He did show glimpses of being very good, and maybe under Rafa could mature and improve!".....
Could not agree more (as I have said on other threads ).....
I would be interested if someone could give us the statistics ratio of goals per minute on the pitch. Cheyrou would play well in a passing team i.e. one with Alonso running it. Also he scored some good goals for us in the few chances he got. [eg at Chelsea and in the FA cup,].I would be interested if someone (sad anorak)could give us the statistics for ratio of goals per minute on the pitch for Liverpool last year.!! Unfortunately, just when he was playing better he got dropped to bring back an unfit Michael Owen. By that stage Houllier was more interested intrying to please critical fans than in making tough managerial decisions. Result: confidence shot.
Get him back and give him a proper chance. Others such as Diou and Biscan should be sold if possible.:blues:
