Yeah I noticed that, either their going to sell Defoe or they aren't going to complete the Mido deal?

i havent seen no news about them completing the mido deal, but if they do sell the 2 strikes they could pose a bid for the spanaird.

Defoe is too similar to Cisse for me.

Yes Ciggy, those words are not typical of a player that doubts, but of a player that is sure he'll be away. The Germany world cup blow must have been hard for him, I'm sorry for him. I somehow sense he's a bit homesick right now, and I feel he'll come back to Spain.

Possible targets, Deportivo, as Tristan is leaving, Sevilla, as they have fresh money with some players sold like Sergio Ramos and they're going to play in Europe... don't discard Zaragoza, a team where he started to shine. Now that his international days are over, he might seek a not so high club in order to be a vital role of it and score a good number of goals.

Can't see why Sevilla would want morientes.  Omer 'Freddy' Kanoute has had a damn good 1st season in spain.

I will be sad to see him go because I had invested a lot of hopes in him. I thought he was the ideal player for Liverpool, tall, good in the air, great passer, great shot in either foot etc. Real pity that hes never shown it consistantly with us. I personally wish him well.

I think we all feel that to be honest.  On paper, Morientes was the ideal striker for us....sadly it didn't bear fruit when put into practice.  Hopefully we'll get 3-4 million for him and use that to fund a replacement.

Kanouté is a player nice to watch. He's very smart in his movements, he's not the typical 1,92 m clumsy striker. He has scored 6 goals in liga season, 2 in King's cup, and 1 in UEFA cup, which is far than damn good. I think though, the player has quality.

Sevilla also has Saviola, which needs no introduction. But Caparrós is a very very classic coach, and I feel he gladly will sign up a typical "9" , even more if the player is a tough worker like Morientes.

Morientes is the most likely to leave. Given his omission from the Spanish World Cup Squad, he may even want to. Good luck to him if he goes. However, for Liverpool, he's been firing blanks for too long.
