Im with Lynds on this one. If you dont think much of the city how can you think much of the team. Its like saying if one of the foreigners at the club had lifted the european cup instead of Stevie they would have shared the same feelings. Only Carra and Stevie knew how much that meant to the people of the city. I think the person in question once posted how he would get in and out of games at Anfield because he believed he was gonna be mugged or beaten up in Liverpool.

Its strange to me how someone from outside the city can claim they support the team but yet slate the city itself. Beyond belief.

Er... no need to get your knickers in a knot there Ciggy. I apologised in the first line of my post if I was getting the wrong end of the stick and you have indeed travelled. Everyone naturally feels most comfortable in their own city and the media works very hard to promote an 'us and them' mentality fuelling misconceptions and prejudice, including mine. I also said that I didn't read the offending LA post - I guess the title of the topic didnt take my fancy that time and I 'overlooked it'. My post was not made to defend Liverpoolanytime but to suggest your reaction was a tad hardline.

As to the PM I sent you - as well you know, it was NOT a request for any such pictures. It was a copy of my self-deleted response to comments about your T-shirt photo in the "post your photo" thread - intended as an apology for the innaproprite post and expressing concern that it may have caused you embarrassment. In future I'll just delete the post and not volunteer any explanation toward the person the post was directed to. My mistake assuming you would want to know what I wrote - sorry. :rasp

There are scum in every city, Liverpool too has its fair share of lowlife, I am sure much to your shame and embarrasment. Agreed that if LA generalised so much as to say that the whole of Liverpool is like that he went too far - I didnt see that post so won't comment further. What I will say however is that the world, whether we like it or not, is a global village now. All this 'my city is better than your city and I wont hear anything different' type stuff smacks of Nationalist Front fervour albeit on a more localised scale. I'll take it further than that... if you'll feel wronged by any generalisations made, perhaps you as a Liverpool citizen can put right those wrongs by the use of a simple crime rate statistic (for example) so as to educate and inform those forum readers who have never been to the great and historic city of Liverpool.

As a postscript, I was/am one of those for ousting Saddam and yes, I have been to Anfield.

Do you know something I dont even know who you are but you have an awful lot to say about the matter, or are you him in another alter ego? Hmmmmmmm........................?

Yes, that was the copied original post - I think my exact words were "got any pictures without the T-Shirt then Ciggy?" or something to that effect. I'm sure my PM did though aplogise and say that I should not have posted that in an open forum. Sometimes my naivety gets the better of me but there you go....

It is my understanding that LA was granted a second chance via a new ID, but he couldn't keep his trap shut about his true identity, and caused more arguements again.

The things he said initially were quite simply disgusting, particularly his support for cowardly terrorists and his insistance that the murder of the WPC was OK because she died in the line of duty.

People like that need a good hiding.

I, for one, don't want the scrubber back on here.

Seeing that I'm no longer a member of the moderating team I no longer feel constrained by a sense or a need to sound fair and balanced about people like LA.

LA is a world class idiot and from my dealings with him I can only conclude that he is some sort of Walter Mitty type internet freak who gets some sort of mastabatory pleasure from constantly coming back here tormenting people.

When he left the forum the last time he had a bit of afters with me by PM in which he told me that we could all stick our forum and that he was leaving for RAWK, where his "Times editorial team" standard posting had been welcomed with open arms by all and sundry on RAWK.

Well, it would appear that he has sunk without a trace on that forum where his idiotic views were never going to get the same hearing as they did on here, given that we have a far more active general chat section than RAWK.

It doesn't particularly bother me if he posts here or not so long as he keeps a wide bearth from me, although I think I can say with a fair degree of certainty that it will cause ructions all over again.
