Did anyone mention that Rumour season has started!

Large pinch of salt to be taken with each glance on a back page tabloid article!

Yeah might be a rumour, might be true, I think we need to open our eyes that their is a possibility Owen could leave and if he did it would be for a foreign club and with Barca and Real bigging two of the biggest clubs abroad this could be possible.

I agree that alot of paper talk is *****, like the story about Gerrard leaving Anfield but the Owen situation is a little more believable  ???

BBC News

"Owen, 24, only has one year left on his current £60,000-a-week contract and would be free to negotiate a Bosman-style free transfer away from Anfield.

He has already been linked with moves to Real Madrid and Chelsea this season..."

I'm keeping an open mind cos I said McManaman would sign but he didn't and I also thought the Beckham thing was rubbish this time last season but look where he is now  :(

Might just be Owen's agent letting these rumours slip out. Agents use speculation to get the players better deals.

I think he'll sign

if we finish 4th i have absolutely no doubts that michael owen will sign a new deal. no 4th means no michael owen imo. that is why the birmingham game is massive. win it and we would most likely only need a draw against the toon on the last day.
