back to your point Ciggy...i don't think Sinima is coming back and, like Le Tallec, his comments have probably cemented that.

i think there is a tendency to look too hard at our players comments, however they are reported. pongo may have mentioned he didn't get enough chances despite scoring - exactly what many of us on here have been saying. he has every right to say it himself. and if the majority of people he has met in liverpool have been everton supporters so feckin what? maybe thats the way it appears in his own experience. its also completely true that we enjoy a huge support outside of liverpool - just look at this forum for a start. despite all the people's club krap thats something everton would dearly love to have themselves.

Your right about Everton would love the world wide support for moneys that we recieve, but those of us who have blue nose mates and family members, hate hearing.
See even yer own players say your support is full of wools and OOTERS, and the endless arguements you find yourself in trying to prove otherwise.
So we dont need Pongolle or any other player of ours saying it.
Anyway its my point of view I dont think he should have said it, his comments have caused an uproar on RAWK.
Even as far as saying they never want to see him play for Liverpool again.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

but you're such a passionate liverpool supporter why are you bothered what a few bitters say? you know you're right when you say you support the best team on merseyside and the thing that really gets them is they know you're right too.

Maybe he only meets evertonians because they're always insulting him on the streets :rasp . The media must have played with his words, seriously doubt he said that or meant it in that way in any case.

To be fair, Pongolle is not too far from the truth.

We have more fans from outside Liverpool than Everton.

Everton may just have the edge inside Liverpool and the surrounding connurbations.

When I was in school, Red V Blue on the playground always seemed to be 10 reds versus 13/14 blues.

There must be something going on between Rafa & Pongolle. Pongolle is a good player and certainly much better than Cisse in terms of scoring. He's fast, skillful and a good finisher - just what we need at the moment to halt our strikers' goal drought. The frustrating question which has baffled me - Why was he loaned out to Blackburn then? Why why why?! I've always trusted Rafa's decisions so far but this Pongolle issue is something which I dun understand. Was it his attitude or what?! I guess only Rafa knows. ???

cissie, baros, ping pong

all gone because of attitude imho ,rafa likes his player to work hard all the time, even if you aren't in the first team, which is abit of a shock to some of the stars! they have gobbed off and rafa won't stand for it   bye bye

you can only have one boss,    fergie, maureen and rafa are proof of that

Think Pongolle's just been a bit naive there.  Whether what he's saying is true or not he should know better than to say it, but it's hardly worth hanging him for it.

If anyone should have a chip on their shoulder about Benitez at the moment it's Pongolle.  Left behind in the Istanbul celebrations after he'd played an integral part in the early stages of the competition last season, hardly given a sniff of a first team game despite all the other strikers misfiring, dropped after saving us against Luton in the cup and then loaned out in favour of bringing in a player (albeit a club legend) who hadn't had 90 minutes under his belt since last May.  IMO he can be forgiven for feeling a bit hard done by.

I honestly think though that this loan spell could do him good.  A bit more action in the prem on a regular basis is what he needs.  I actually agree with those that say Pongolle has more of a future at Liverpool than Cisse or Morientes (in Benitez's eyes), but that will depend on whether he is content with being a 3rd or 4th choice striker for us.  I think Benitez will tell him at the end of the season that he wants him to be part of the squad, but I suspect Pongolle might just decide he's had enough bench time and ask for a transfer.

I hope he comes back for us next season though, he's not good enough to be a starter yet, but he's good enough to change games for us coming off the bench to play either on the right or up front.
