Momo's injury - Serious apparently

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Red Red Tom » Wed Feb 22, 2006 12:14 am

Well we all knew when Momo stayed down that it was serious.  The club website says it is a serious eye injury.  We are dissapointed at that woeful result, but we need to look at the wider picture.  One of our best young talents has a nasty injury.  Paul Scholes has one, all the reports of blurred vision suggest something as serious as possible brain damage - now Momo has an eye injury as well.  I'm not for a minute suggesting the two are similar injuries, but our thoughts should be with Momo just now, and we should try and keep some perspective - and hope that the lad is going to be alright.  We'll win this tie yet, I just hope Momo recovers quickly and fully.

I hope its not serious. One of our Benfica friends has just said that sissoko can't see at the moment.

this is far more important than the result, I hope he recovers fully from it - no matter how long the recovery period is. Sounds seriously worrying :(

Obviously Momo's recovery is at the forefront of the fans minds now. From his personal health point of view for one thing and also from the point of view that he has become an integral part of out team. Get well soon fella.

BBC are reporting that he was taken to hospital after complaining of blurred vision. That sounded like a concussion to me (I had much the same after an elbow to much the same area in a 5-a-side recently), but serious eye injury to me sounds worryingly like something to do with the eye socket.

I really, really hope I'm just sh*tting myself excessively, but a fracture there ends his season. Those kind of injuries are absolutely horrible.

All the best fella.

Blurry vision doesn't mean brain damage, and 24h observation is a common protocol when a player gets one of those hits in the head. When this happens, doctors have the maximum authority, so I just hope it's all precaution.

This is indeed much more important than the match. All my support for our enthusiastic midfielder.

All the best Momo, the kick looked really nasty on the replay. But you cant really fault the defender, Sissoko came out of no where.

Get well soon :(

Apparently he has a detatched retna and damage to the eye socket, very serious injury even if the op is successfull he may not get his full sight back  :(
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.
