i think barton will get found out at a big club, i dont think he is good enough to be considered for us or even the mancs.  although he is a battler and gives his all, and i respect as a player for that, but for liverpool he will rock the boat

Good player he is. Mark you're wrong about his ability mate. Simple as that, technically and tactically he's as good if not SLIGHTLY better than Gerrard.

However his attitude's a disgrace and physically he's average at best. He's also never in a million years a right sided midfielder, he's a central midfielder.

better than Gerrard?  i never read all this thread....but this comment has to go up there with your remarks about Sutton being one of England's best striker.

With the exception of Fowler, Owen, Rooney, Ashton and Defoe name a better english centre forward than Chris Sutton.

You are completely clueless lad. A complete numpty who knows nothing about the game and certainly couldn't judge a players ability if his life depended on it.

The worst thing is, you can't see it. You actually think you know what you're talking about. You rate Carragher as world class and you'll say the national management, Alex Ferguson, David O'Leary etc are all wrong because he doesn't play every week, then you'll argue that Worthington didn't sign Fowler so he must be past it because Worthington says so. Now, Benitez says he can offer us something and is a good player and you're going against Rafa, so you'll back Worthington's view on things, but because Pearce and a few other idiots (urself included) can't see it, you'll now say Benitez is wrong aswell? :D Well sorry lad, i'd take Rafa's word over any of their's as he instantly commands respect with his managerial record and ability.

You have clearly never seen Chris Sutton play either, he holds the ball up, is good in the air, is very very strong and has a very good touch and good technique. He can also play centre half.

Get a clue, then come back. Watch the lad, as an individual. Its not hard to see he does ALOT of good things throughout the 90 minutes, ask Blackburn fans who there best players were when they won the title in 95. Shearer and Sutton.

Also, i never said Joey Barton was even nearly in the same class as Steven Gerrard as a footballer.

You make yourself look more like an idiot with each and every post and your attempts to laugh off my points when you don't understand them aswell your attempts to belittle me and failing miserabley are laughable. :talktothehand

Gerrard is one of the worlds best players at the moment, but Joey Barton is one of the up and coming (if not a bit late at doing so) talents of premiership football, much like how Kevin Nolan hit the scene.

Barton obviously is not as good as Gerrad, but like Stu said, very similar in how the have an impact on the game.

Barton, if controlled correctly, would be a good signing and would add more to the game than Momo would at present. (understanding that momo is only a touch on 20)

edit: Stu, your right in how Gerrard leaves holes in the midfield. His style of play allows holes to develop and only a defensive holding player like Xabi and Momo will cover this up.

My point is, a player cannot be the perfect all round midfielder. Midfielders need to be good at defending and also attacking, they cannot do both all of the time.

I understand that completely.

Thats part of my point though.

I do however disagree with signing Barton. He's scum, his family are scum and he's generally got an attitude.

Good player though.

I'm glad someone who sounds like they have an ounce of sense backed me up as apose to Barry who is probably half cut...  :bowdown

Stu mate, I know you love to be Mr Controversy,  but you are well off the mark her mate.

You cant make accusations like that about Barton or his family because of what happened to his step brother. Is Jack the Rippers sister scum cus what he did?

Bang out of order and talking total rubbish if you think any part of Bartons game is better than Steives !!

Stu, i have seen Sutton play and i could name several players who are better, but for this occasion i'll go with Johnson at Palace.  As for Fowler, we will see if he can recapture his form, i'm not convinced.  I doubt if he will score more than 3-4 goals but i'd be happy to be proven wrong.

But hang on Stu, you've been quoted as saying Barton is "technically and tactically he's as good if not SLIGHTLY better than Gerrard"....No one agrees with you and, no matter how much abuse you use to cover your tracks, your opinion is laughable.  Barton tactically and technically better than Gerrard?

i suggest you either go back to school (because i'm assuming you're 14) or (if you're actually an adult, which i find difficult to believe) get laid because you're obviously a moron who uses this forum to wind people up.

If someone with an ounce of football knowledge disagreed with me, i'd probably listen, as seen its you mark the manc, 7_kewell the knowledgeless dick who thinks Carraghers "world class" and some :censored: who i've never even heard of its water off a ducks back.

7_kewell, your arguements of "no-one agress so you must be wrong ha ha" are brilliant. Wonderful arguements that can never be countered. You are a true genius...
