According to the papers (yeh, yeh I know) Liverpool are trailing Man City's Joey Barton as a possible replacement for Stevie G who is now being courted by Manure as well as Chelsea and the A#se.

Jeez, Is this horsesh#te or what??

That's gotta be a great big pile of s##t. Anyway, every club in the world would love to have Stevie so in reality Manure etc etc are no more courting him than we are courting f##kin Zidane, Henry & Ronaldo

Joey Barton is good player, and I would be pleased if he came.

He would not come as a replacement for Gerrard but to play alongside him.

Also he is from Liverpool, so that would be a bonus.

Has, Joey's a decent player but i dun think he's gd enough to feature in our midfiel line-up...If we are really gonna progress & challenge for the title, that getting Barton is not the way to go...Let's get someone established for once i reckon..... :)

I understand we did look at joey, Houllir likes the idea of scousers at the pool, beleive it or not.

Its a no go until they are relegated, however he would be a good addition to the squad.

Why would JB be a good addition?
I can't for the life of me see what more ability he would bring to our club.
We have players here who are capable of doing what he can- and then some!
Rather than go spending hard earned on un-proven, ordinary, workaday players, Houllier would be better served to be getting the players we have (that he has already bought to the club) to perform to their potential.
Save the dosh for when the worthwhile players come available-coz they will........
