Ermmm, I think it might be just you mate.

On the question of mellor, I'm with John on this. I don't think he's even close to being a Premiership player and would have taken the 500k we were offerd last season. Simply not up to it in my view.

I was thinking that same thing earlier. They do have certain facial features that seem to match. He done ok for us. I know he was prolific in the reserve for scoring but he scored 2 important goals for us last season. One against Olypiakos and the other against Arsenal.

Aye mate, they do have certain features that match, the've both got eye's, a nose, ear's and a mouth...

I like Mellor and it is a good move for him, to see if he can be a success in the prem, he has a great manager in Paul Jewel, and we will be able to see what he has on offer at this level.

Not sure about that Stu.  He didn't exactly set the world alight during his loan spell at West Ham.  In fact he even struggled to get a game for them, and that wasn't even in the premiership.  He played second fiddle to Connolly and Zamora if I remember.

In fact the only team he has ever looked totally convincing in is our reserves.  He chipped in with a few important goals for us in the first team last year, but to be honest I was never really convinced by him.

I reckon he'll get games for Wigan at the moment as they have injury problems, but I don't think he would even start in a full strength Wigan team to be honest.

He'd score goals anywhere. He knows where the net is and can take a chance.

He scored 5 in 16, not all of them were starts. He alway set Gerrard's volley up against Olymiacos. He's a decent player lacking fitness. He'll never be top class, he'll never contribute greatly to alround play but he can do a job and he's good at taking chances.

He's a damn site better at finishing than Sissy and he's sore probably about 60% of the amount of Goals Sinama's scored, considering how many games they've both played kind of says it all.

i agree wiv stu here, he is one ov them playes u want the ball to fall to in the box reminds me ov the likes ov god and sheara not much pace but knows were the net is

wasnt that gerrards debut goal? a mazy run and a low angle shot to the keepers right. great goal that.

yeah that's the one. you could just see from that goal what a great player gerrard was going to be. i mention the game because we won 4-1 and david thompson also scored a brilliant left footed curler.

thompson will be an asset to any premiership team if he can stay fit.

He scored one and one assist, he looks about 3 stone over weight, loose weight Neil start finding the back of the net on a regular basis and come back to Liverpool at the end of the season.

So 1 ex red and two on loan score 3 goals today plus one assist, hopefully our current strikers will score tomorrow :)
