Can we go back in time? - Lfc's position 15yrs ago

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Has anyone seen today's Sun newspaper?  On the results page as usual is the 5 - 10 -15 years ago position of the Premiership.  How things have changed in 15 years.  Then Liverpool were 3 points behind Arsenal (63 points) with a game in hand, and MUFC were on 45 points.  Since then things have gotten worse.

Ten years ago:  MUfc on 79 points and LFC on 57

Five years ago:  MUfc on 64 points and LFC on 43

Enough is enough!  Time is up on Houllier, and his so called "5 year" plan.  It didn't work, and just cost too much, in both money and reputation.  Teams used to be afraid of playing Liverpool in front of the Kop - not anymore, they relish it.

It just epitomizes Liverpools position when Houllier say's it would be "Fantastic" if Liverpool finished 4th - we never used to settle for 2nd place, let alone 4th.

if you take our points total now (49) and our points total from this day 5 yrs ago (43) you will have roughly the number of points arsenal will have gained since they last lost. :(

Yes, well that's why Liverpool (I'm sorry to say it) have become a 2nd class team.  To hell with the tradition of not sacking managers - we need to clear out all the dead wood, and mistake buys.
