a very very good game for the reds. controlled from beginning to end although there were a few anxious moments towards the end. Reina was simply superb. another shutout!

now let go and lift that one trophy that is still missing from our bulging cabinets.

Saw some highlights of the sao paulo game today. They look better than the team we just beat, but i think we should win. I hope their goalkeeper is playing he was terrible, he was ok at taking free kicks and penalties, but when it came to 'goalkeeping' he didn't cut the mustard. he was also wearing a fecking scarf. :D

There were some anxious moments but only because of the record, we were 3-0 up so they were never getting back into it.
Plus that was when he had taken off Stevie G and Sami.

did stevie pick up a knock on his knee? or was he just telling xabi where HIS was (start of second half)
of course he went off early for a rest, but thats the last thing we need.
he has had a couple of fouls against lately.  ???

Good performance against a reasonable side.
The real test comes on Sunday.

Nevertheless - Reina was brilliant, as was Stevie G, Xabi and both CB's.

I've got to say that I think the opposition was pants!  How much space did we get in midfield?  Nearly as much as we got out wide!

Crouch, Stevie, Carra and Pepe played well, and also Josemi.  You can only beat what's put in front of you.

Good display from the boys today, opposition was poor but you can only beat what's in front of you. First 2 goals were top class and the 3rd was a good finish after poor defending.

We were totally dominant and only looked like conceding in the last 15-20 mins when Sami went off.  That's where having a dependable keeper comes in, Reina came and collected 2 or 3 difficult crosses when the defence wasn't attacking the ball.

If ever there was proof that Hyypia's aerial ability is second to none and that adequate defensive cover is essential in January then the last 20 mins of this game was it.  A better side would have put 1 or 2 of those late chances in against us today.  Something tells me Traore and Josemi will not be anywhere near the team for the Sao Paolo game.

On current form we should rip Sao Paolo to pieces, I expect us to boss the midfield and score a couple at least.  They'll be a good side, but our players look surprisingly up for this tournament and should do the business.
