Rijkaard nor Wenger could win the UEFA cup, and La Liga twice in three years with an average team like Valencia. Wenger has been stating for years that the CL was his main priority and yet he still can't win it. Ferguson is better than Wenger anyways. Mourinho is a great manager but to say he is better than Benitez because he won the Premiership last season with 200 million pounds spent is ridiculous.

now now you expert, Mourinho won the Uefa AND the Champions league with an average team ( in fact Porto are a worse side than Valencia or l'pool ).

Secondly, nobody thinks we can win the league. There's still work to be done in our squad however, some of our fans are hoping that we win the league. They're staying optimistic and there's no fault for that. People were hoping that we would win the CL last season after knocking Juventus and you[Chelsea] out of the competition.

''you've beat average teams'' - you can only beat whats in front of you. This weekend you beat Wigan 1-0, last week we beat them 3-0. You beat Boro 1-0, we beat them 2-0. You beat Portsmouth 2-0, we beat them 3-0. We played 0-0 with Man Utd, you lost to them 1-0. We had a bit difficult start to the season but we're playing with more confidence *knock on wood* but theres work to be done still. Nobody here is getting deluded like you think we are. What the papers are saying, is the usual bandwagon.

Doesn't matter whether they're average or not, what matter is that we're moving a step closer to closing the gap between ourselves and you. I don't think we'll win the league this season because we would have to win every single game from now on and you lot would have to lose 3 games. Neither are likely to happen.

And if you don't think Benitez is one of the best managers currently then you need to get your foot out of your a$$ and give up football. Winning the Champions League with Mellor,Pongolle,Baros,Biscan,Traore and Alamo type injury list takes a hell of a lot of work. Especially when in the process you beat Juventus,Chelsea and AC Milan.

Btw Mourinho inherited a team that finished 2nd in the Premiership two seasons in a row. The likes of Robben,Duff,Cech,Crespo,Lampard,etc... were already there before Mourinho arrived.

To top it all off, he has more funds available than any other manager in the world. It's not that hard to win the league with that kind of assets at your disposal.

they were average at that time, just became world class players cos of their success with Mourinho.

Benitez had some world class players at Valencia and Liverpool too.
