Why he apologised? Morinho didn't teach him how to lie?
Anyway.. we will accept the apology. But yet will punish him based on his admision.

I'd take a horse-sh*t pie to Shatford Bridge when we play the w*nkers in the league and splat the b*stard in the face with it, then have my own sh*t rubbed in his ears.

Ugly c*nt.

it was a horrendous tackle but stevie g has done the same in the past, as have most players in the centre of midfield (fat lampard excluded. that guy wont tackle in case he ruins his perfect run, fat little fecker that he is)

the problem was he did not apologise, and now doing it just to get in sweet with the authorities is too little too late. we do accept the apology but essien is getting the ban he deserves

He has only apologised after he knew he was getting charged!!
Too late in my eyes!Essien must be punished before he ends someones career!

I wonder if this apology is an attempt to lessen his punishment by UEFA ...? Me thinks so.

It must be chelsea policy to try and put one of our central midfielders out for the season when we are on top of them in a match. :(

The important thing is that Essien apologised and Didi has the grace and sense to accept. Whether we accept it or not, is unimportant, it's up to Didi. Essien will be punished and hopefully he'll learn. Uefa are rumoured to be contemplating a ten match ban (similar to Roy Keane's sentance after his horror tackle) and a big fine. If he doesn't learn after that, he won't be at Chelsea for long, after all, if he does get a ban it will mean that for the first time since taking charge, Jose doesn't have a top quality raplacement (with Makalele out).

Personally, I hope they throw the book at him. Not through contempt, but through his learning and exposure he MUST obey the rules.

Sometimes when you play with fire, you'll get your fingers burned. There's no doubt that Essien is now a marked man so if someone takes him out I wonder what Maureenio's reaction will be....???
