stmichael wrote:i also agree about the midfield balance. gerrard and garcia were all over the place. they weren't keeping any sort of shape. however i'd play the same side against anderlecht and villa next week. we need to get some kind of understanding going.
stmichael wrote:Funny how Garcia has a good game and all of a sudden the same fans who have been slating the guy in the past, suddenly love him.
I've always said that whilst the guy is unbelievably frustrating, he's just class when he's on top of his game.
You could criticise Garcia for a lot of things, but lack of effort, no chance. The lad never stops, he never hides, no matter how badly things are going he will continue to show, continue to try things others wouldn't dream of.

We deserved to win yes, but it was not a particularly good performance. We were very comfortable at the back, Alonso and Gerrard had decent games, and Garcia had his best match yet so far this year, but there were a lot of problems.
Pepe Reina had nothing to do but his lax kicking is still a concern.
John Arne Risse had an ok game, but his overall form this season is not what it should be.
Djbril Cisse was very poor. He may have Henry's speed and in a couple of years when his frame fills out he may have Henry's power, but Djbril will never have Henry's skill, guile and intelligence. His decision making was poor and he looks a player that refuses to gel with his team mates. Cisse this year will be a re-run of Baros last year. We all know Rafa doesn't fancy him and he's only winding down his Liverpool career.
Morientes worked hard - for Morientes - and some of his touches were good, but his lack of pace is alarming.
Rafa over crowded midfield leaving Sissoko getting in Alonso's way a lot. There was no width whatsoever.
In the same way as people shouldn't get hysterical when we lose they should not start gushing when we get a patchy win.
