Too soon - End of the season

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby DZed » Tue Oct 25, 2005 10:33 pm

I, a long with you, am extremely :censored: off right now. The Crystal Palace result wasn't even a surprise. You would have thought that following the devastating defeat to Fulham, we would at least produce a decent result against a lower league team yet we produce nothing. I believe Benitez knows that this is La Liga and is finding it hard in the English game. While I feel like saying :censored: off to him and the bunch of players that have embarrassed the greatest club in the world, I do believe we must wait till the end of the season to come to the right conclusion.

Agree he needs to be given a season. But some of his buys and tactics are baffling and need to be questioned. I really hope he can turn it round. I think we need to keep an english core to the side. Would like some good (not the likes of Crouch) young english players added to the squad.

i think the only  target we now have this season is the f.a. cup.let's be honest, chelsea have the league sewn up,we have no chance of winning the champions league this year,we are out the carling cup,and it's not november yet!!!   and the way where playing at the moment we will struggle to make the eufa cup for next season. anyone disagree?? :( :(

Do the players even care abot the fans? honestly?
If some of them showed half the passion the fans did then we would be doing a hell of a lot better.

We all dream of a team of Carragher's!!!!

Hearing this just brings a smile to my face.  I think our bad start has been overstated by many and I do believe Rafa is the man who can turn it around.  Just give the man a quality winger, and someone who can take chances.

Is that all, a quality winger?

What about more alert defenders? Whenever Carra plays, he has to fight like hell and throw himself all over the place to block or intercept while the likes of Traore, Josemi etc. gets pulled out of position or turned by the opposition way too easily. Yet these walking disasters get to start or play far to regularly.

On top of that, the first choice strikers are far too cumbersome and don't get much service. As always, Stevie have to take the game by the scruff of the neck and try to play like 2 or 3 players rolled into 1.

I am utterly baffled why a manager who has been a proven winner in the past still insists to play such a European way when it is clear we don't have the personnel to make it work. Also, he has continuously failed to come to grips with the spirit and grit in the English game, which is such a big factor that caused us so much problems in the past season.

For heaven's sake, get our act together! So depressing...
