Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Chelsea forever. » Sat Sep 24, 2005 2:49 pm

The first half was the most boring 45 iv ever seen in my life. Players were stationary, tactics were non-existent and everyone kept losing the ball.

The second half started even worse, I think all 20 players must have presented the opposition with the ball at least 3 or 4 times. I couldn’t understand Rafa's approach to the game and I thought he got it completely wrong to start with.

Garcia on and yet no change. One quick move and Garcia scores, 7 minutes later Liverpool are down 2-1. Reina - pathetic! Then a stupid hand ball in the penalty box, a red card a penalty and its 2-2! Crouch had a good chance to win the game but his header summed up his performance.

---

Birmingham were the better team, they created more chances and I must say Pennant and Gray turned Josemi and Warnok inside out quite a few times. They looked most lively and a lot of Liverpool players looked simply not bothered at trying to create a chance.

Best player on the pitch - between Pennant and Julian gray

Best Liverpool player - IMO all had a bad game but I will credit Gerrard with a total of 10 minutes of good play and Carragher with a total of 5.

Most stupid player - Garcia. Is getting subbed and takes his ring out, puts it in his mouth to try and conn the ref, gets on and takes it out of his mouth and gets caught so has to give it to the bench. Then throws the ball away and gets a Yellow.

--

This was a dreadful performance and if this is the way you are going to play there is no telling what the future holds. Cisse was on for 10 minutes before he got his first touch.

Reina was very bad with that goal he gifted and the 2nd one went in off his shoulder.

Josemi was poor, Zenden was pathetic, Pongo was also sad. Alonso surprisingly didnt have a good game either and Crouch was poor too.

Rafa better change his formation because this is obviously not working.

this is mine

we looked like a joke...WE ARE LIVERPOOL FC for f*** sake, someone needs to kick RB up the a** and do it quick, he is picking the wrong team to start the game and on top of that he make us sit back till the last 10 mins till we are 2-1 down.
RB you should have learnt a lot more in the prem last year than you did, get it right or go to Real and suck up to them.

The problem is not the tactics. For soem reason we seem to only perform good against the bigger teams. Birmingham fustrated us last year to.

That's just negative, over-critical rubbish.

Chelsea forever, you know the reaction this sort of post is going to provoke - do you get some sort of perverse pleasure in having people hurl abuse at you? Does this in some warped way affirm deep felt feelings of self-loathing? You are a strange character.

The only thing I'll say was that Gerrard was the clear man of the match. Im going to try and keep it positive - and he was magic today, he did things today that no other player on the pitch could have done and is clearly one of the world's best midfielders.
