How do you see it Saint? Sissko Kid n Xabi, or Sissko kid n Gerrard in the 2, Gerrard/Xabi, Zenden (as you said, Kewell)and Garcia (FSP) in the 3?
Never in a million years did we need 3 CMs yesterday, but somehow i just knew that's how Rafa was going to play it. Having said that it's got to be quite hard to leave any of them out, because they're probably our 3 best players right now!
Lets be honest though, in that formation Stevie spends far more time attacking than defending so in truth its a 4-2-3-1 formation. The key to that formation is wingers that will hold their position and stretch the game to occupy the fullbacks but at the moment we dont have that. Zenden and Garcia don't have the pace to do so and also tend to drift inwards a lot.
Im sure Gonzalez was penciled in to play a big part in home games and lets all hope Harry can do soemthing, Rafa has acknowledged the need for a right winger and if the right player is brought in expect the team and that formation to look much more attacking.
That said we could have easily won 3-0 yesterday and if we had would be getting these same posts about worrying about a lack of goals?
