He's turning out to be one bitter little b@st@rd is Mourinho.

To be honest I'd be pretty p1ssed off with LFC if I was him.  He has a never-ending transfer budget, the best squad in the premiership and won chelski their first championship in 50yrs after winning the uefa cup and champ lge in successive seasons with Porto.  Everything was going his way until we beat them in the champ lge semi last year, and all of a sudden the toys are out of the pram.  Chelsea can say what they like about the league, but to Mourinho and Abramovich, the champions lge is the trophy they REALLY wanted.  It hurts them to this day and the jealousy is unbelievable.

On top of that, not only has Gerrard turned down Chelski in the end, but Eto'o, Shevchenko, Ronaldinho and Trezeguet have told them to get to fu.ck.  This Essien deal is p1ssing him off as well.  Mourinho knows that as long as we have Gerrard, we have the best midfielder in the premiership and once Rafa finishes building a team around him and Carra, Mourinho knows we will be a serious threat.

Mourinho has let himself down with his actions and comments so many times now that he's actually an embarrasment to Chelsea, but they can't admit it because for now he's getting results on the pitch.  But you wait and see, as soon as results start going against him, the pressure will be on.  Abramovich is a ruthless b@st@rd and he'll axe Mourinho when it suits him.  Deep down Mourinho knows this too and he's sorry he took the Chelsea job instead of speaking to LFC when we offered.

It worked out for the best because we have now got a manager who is easily as good as Mourinho at his job, and more importantly twice the man.

I think WE will be more successful than them over the next 10 years.

You're quite right. Nothing is certain in football or life and I was a bit ahead of myself there. Theoretically, Wigan could win the Prem and it is incorrect to talk of it being a certainty that they won't. In all probability they won't however, just as IMHO in all probability Chelsea will be successful while their transfer budget is bottomless and absolutely dwarfs everybody elses.
We've seen how close they can come to simply collecting your best player. Man City fans have seen it in even sharper reality than we have, ditto Charlton. This is a completely new phenomenon in football in my view. I know in the past, ourselves Manure and the other big clubs plundered the best players from those available, but not simply to sit on the bench. We're talking about a team here who sacked a bloke who they paid more for than our record signing ever. Just wrote him off, "see yer mate". Nobody else could afford to do what they have done with Mutu, similarly with Crespo and Veron.
You are correct when you say nothing is certain but I know this much. If they are not incredibly successful given the massive advantage they have in terms of resources then Mourhinho is anything but the special one. This is financial clout and superiority the like of which has never been seen before in World football. Like Bosman it will change the landscape of football. Unlike Bosman it will take a few years because what they have highlighted is not an illegal situation which the courts can change, it is about sporting fairness and equality and the ball is in the court of the governing bodies. Expect a solution in about 5 years.

The only thing that worries me is that whilst Rafa is putting his own team together, and for argumentive sake it takes 2 / 3 seasons to win the title..He decides to take a job back home ..i.e..real or the national side.If that happened i would hope and pray we are left with good solid foundations to build on once he has left.In 1990 we won the title with an old side, only for a certain mr souness to come in and buy worthless non liverpool players.I would hate to see the last 15 years return if rafa decided to leave.

I wouldn't worry about that mate.

Rafa is not buying in 16yr olds like Hobbs and 18yr olds like Barragan if he is planning on p1ssing off to Real in a couple of seasons.

It will take a hell of a lot to prise him away from Liverpool after the reaction of the fans to him winning the champions lge last season.  I honestly think he was really taken back by that.

I hope your right, things can change so quickly.I love liverpool fc with a passion and was lucky enough to witness our 1977 and 1978 european cup wins from the stands in rome and wembley. This current triumph has given me an almighty lift,at a time when i have been very low as i got diagnosed with cancer in April.I have fondly done a lot of reflecting over these last 3 months about what has been and is still very important to me.Apart from the birth of my Daughter....liverpool fc has been my life and biggest love.I think the point i,m trying to make is things can change very quickly in all walks of live, that i know.On April 26th i was a bloke with a million things i wanted to do,on April 27th my world was turned upside down.Liverpool fc and its supporters mean the world to me and i hope and pray that Rafa and  the present team, truly lay the foundations so we finally return to where we belong and where you guys out there deserve them to be.

Sorry to hear that mate, things like that certainly put things into perspective.  You're experience highlights very well how quickly things can change and I won't patronise you by pretending to understand how that feels.

You were a Liverpool fan at the best time by the sounds of it (before my time) and those are memories nobody can take away form you.  Whether we will ever get back to being that successful again remains to be seen.  All the best anyway mate.  YNWA

Just cant believe the mans arrogance!
or is it just plain old stupidity?

Compare his rantings to raffa's measured solid but determined approach and you just know which one of the two will crack under pressure-
we also know whos fans and board will stand by their manager if theres a blank season.
if they win nothing this season he will be manic, and as the pressure builds he will make one lame excuse after another about how its every one elses fault other than his,
he will eventualy get around to blaming money bags and that will be the begining of the end.
TEN YEARS he will be lucky if hes there in 2 years!

I actually liked mourinho to begin with, when he beat manure with porto and ran down the pitch to celebrate, that was CLASS. i like his controversy at other teams like manure and arsenal, but when he has a pop at us thats just nonsense and there's no need for it. just because gerrard plays for his heart and not for his wallet doesn't give mourinho the right to take it out on the club. ALSO.....in the carling cup final what really annoyed me was when he told all us liverpool fans to shush! after the game he claimed that was aimed towards the media! media, my :censored::veryangry

Surely the 'great one' has been enjoying one too many of Fergie's invitations to a quiet glass of red at the local MUFC-branded pubs (soon to be released as the latest merchandise by Mr Glazer)!

I cannot believe that he is convinced that the mighty blue Bolshevik revolution (Mk 2) will be winning more than Liverpool in the next decade. While, as a Liverpool fan, I can concede that Chelski were superb last season, I personally am not convinced that they will sweep the board this season.

They have a good core of players, a great coach and a blank check for a bankroll, yes. A tick in every box yet as we all know in football, money does not always buy success. I feel that the Blues are in need of a good thrashing or two (which may come this season) and it will be the catalyst for a sell-off of immense proportions.

Chelski can't sustain a squad with their current talent and keep them happy. ManYoo have tried this before (just ask Ole Gunner) and unless they are winning the league, it turns to sh!te. Just ask Parker, Morris, Kezman, Crespo, Babayaro and Bridge. All have had limited parts in the Chelski team and all have been frustrated with the style of management. Mourinho cannot manage his squad for another season the way he did last year and I feel that a few bad results will lead to a mass culling of talent.

It can't be long before that smile and swagger turns to a washed-out whimper of desperation, and I hope it comes courtesy of a 5-0 drubbing by Liverpool!

I don't think that Liverpool are necessarily the better side, but I feel that we are better grounded and have a team resolve that will serve them us well in the next couple of seasons. Rafa the Gaffa has transformed a bunch of misfit players into a solid unit at Liverpool and I feel he has bought well to the needs of the team.

Liverpool have signed Gerrard this summer to a big contract and so now has a big responsibility to his team and the fans. However, if he went to Chelski, he would find himself drifting through the mist of fame and success that Mourinho artificially creates. There is no real success to be had at Chelsea and what better place to prove 'the great one' wrong than by winning a few bits and pieces this season while Chelski flounder. This should be a good season for the Reds and with Gerrard at the helm, the Reds could march on this season!

Chelski and their bosses should take a good hard look at themselves, their arrogance will be their undoing and as the old adage goes, "the bigger they are, the harder they fall". I don't think there will be anyone to protect Mourinho when he does fall and I'm sure that the new blue army of fans will as quickly dissipate as if his very words were teargas to the nose and eyes!

Get your hands off it Mourinho! You have the league, we have Europe, and we didn't have to buy it!
