I wonder where Villa have the extra 10k to pay for Baros. I don' think it's about the money, more about his dream move to Barca. He isn't going to grab Barca's attention by playing at Aston Villa.

If Baros can't score more than 13 goals here then with the midfield we have[which is miles better than Villa's] then it will be even harder to score them at Villa.

I just don't see it happening.

well we will see.  I can't see Barca buying Baros...they have enough strikers.  The only teams interested here is West Ham, Man City and Villa...Vassell has gone to City, and, as i've said, Villa are going to make a 7 million move for Milan.

And all three teams that are linked with him are a joke.

Where are you getting your information from?

don't moan at me for the rubbish teams who want him, it just reenfoces my opinion that the guy isn't half as good as he thinks.  Friend of mine works for the sports section of the press and has been told that Liverpool don't want him, Baros don't want to go but won't have much choice and Villa have been given the impression Baros would settle for a 'star' place at Villa on a big salary, rather than go to France.

O'Leary said on Skysports that he liked the look of Baros, We know that Houllier does. Who was the other team? I'm suprised Newcastle haven't been sniffing around. And Doug Ellis can afford it, because the Villa squad only has about twelve players in it. Who really knows?

So what? Raul's mates with Morientes, I don't see him turning up at Melwood. More's the pity.  :D

If baros was a great player why are the great teams not banging on the door to buy him, when it's widely known he's available? If Van horse head was available at Utd,there would be a queue to sign him!Likewise Henry at Arsenal or Gudjonnson at Chelski!
The fact that Baros has played out of his skin over the last few weeks should only strengthen the arguement that it's his time to go!
Where were all his 'world class' performances last year? It's way too late for him to start performing now.Our club need players who play to the maximum of they're ability every time the pull on the shirt, not when it suits themselves or to try and prove they're worth when the axe is ready to fall!We are to big a club to hold on to a mediocre player for the sake of cover!Baros had his chance, the bottom line is,the guy is not good enough and as a forward does'nt score enough goals!

it's all very well saying baros hasnt done this or that, n he's not consistent enuf... but the fact of the matter is: he does more than the other strikers at lfc.

stop calling for his head... if he signed a new 4 yr contract tomorrow, u'll all be saying "i always thought he was a world-class striker"
we've only won it 5 times

Benitez backs Baros

Liverpool managed Rafa Benitez has insisted that Milan Baros is still in his plans, amid continuing speculation over his future at Anfield.

The Czech Republic striker has been the subject of growing media speculation as talk persists of a move away from Anfield.

Peter Crouch's arrival has taken Liverpool's tally of top strikers up to four, and it is thought Baros is at the bottom of the pile.

Baros has been quoted in the Czech press at times saying that he would leave Anfield if he did not get regular first team action, and he has been linked with moves to Aston Villa and West Ham along with Valencia in Spain.

Benitez is with his team in Lithuania ahead of their UEFA Champions League qualifier against FBK Kaunas on Tuesday, and has insisted that Baros is still in his plans.

"I'm thinking about tomorrow, not offers," said Benitez about talk of Villa's interest.

Baros has not yet played in the Champions League, which has added to the speculation that he is to be sold.

"I will see tomorrow if he plays or not," added Benitez. "If he plays or doesn't play it will be the same.

"We're thinking about the future. He's a good player and he's our player. He's here and he's in the squad and has possibilities for tomorrow."

Benitez dismissed talk of Baros being unhappy, insisting that he was not causing unrest in the camp.

"He's happy now. You see the player in training, he is training really well and he scored two goals the other day and played in a very good way.

"As a player, if you play and score goals you must be happy."

Asked if Baros would be seen in a Liverpool shirt at the start of the Premiership season, a cagey Benitez replied: "I want to see him tomorrow."
