Found this earlier today,

Agree with most of it,

think the villa thing is spot on though,

would rather see Mian go abroad though, as others have notices when he doeas apply himself, he is top drawer, have nasty pictures of him coming to haunt us in the league

I agree AB. This link with Villa just doesn't make sense to me.

People seem to be missing the point.

Ok, so the club want to sell, but why would Milan want to leave the European Champions to play for an average side like Villa, West Ham, Newcastle etc? At 23, with his best years ahead of him, such a move is hardly going to advance his career is it?

And don't give me all that rubbish about the club freezing him out.

The bottom line is Milan won't leave unless a massive club comes in for him, which would never happen in a million years.

People also forget that he turned down Lyon, a club that has been dominating in France and has been in the CL for the past four years. You can argue that he turned it down because of Houllier but non the less, Lyon made a good offer and he turned it down.

It's simple, it's down to money. Villa will pay him a LOT more than Lyon were will to offer.  Milan has no future here and he wants to stay in the premiership (apparently) until after the worldcup.

no i'm sure the club aren't freezing him out,

i'm sure Rafa wouldn't mind keeping him...

just on Rafa's own terms,

Baros must have worked out that he is more than likely going to be 4th choice striker, i imagine it there will be alot of rotation this season but as a player who was moaning about being substituted off, how will he deal, with bench warming for a majority of the season.

surely that won't help his dream move to Barcelona.

i don't pretend to know what goes on in his (or anyone elses) head but surely a season ot two at a lesser team where he will be star man and start nigh on every game, is better than being a bit part player.

i don't know but that how i see it

All this sh.it about 4th choice this, 3rd choice that. if the others (especially Morientes and Cisse)  get injured as much as last season, then all you anti-baros pro-heskey lovers of concrete giants will have no chioce but to support him.

Oh don't get me wrong if he stays, and scores i'll cheer as loud as the next man.

But barring injury can you see him any higher up the pecking order

remembering Benitez brought in Crouch so obviously rates him?

St Michael - as this is a forum, there is really no need to tell us what we need to do at the bottom of your thread starting post, we will discuss it anyway.

On Baros, I think we are jumping hte gun here a bit people, two or three good games in the close season do not mean he is amazing and irreplaceable.

I have been impressed by what seems to be Milan's decision to stay and fight for his place, and possibly this kick up the :censored: after seemingly thinking he was top dog is just what he needed to get him back on the boil.

I will wait and see if he is a changed man, probably when he finds himself on the bench for a big game will be the time to judge him. If he spouts off in the press and sulks on the field, then we ship him out, but if he works hard to get back in the team, scores and takes his chances with both hands, it may be worth keeping him.

Milan really does have the raw talent to become a great player, speed to burn, great close control and he knows where the goal is. If Rafa can make Igor look good, think what he may be able to do with more to work with.

Rotation doesn't have a preferance.

Can you tell from the game v's Olympiakos which team of each half was the preferred team? no neither do i, nor anyone else..

Supporters are using this new term "4th choice is this, 2nd choice  is that".  As far your analogy, and rafas comments that Crouch will be used for away games, Crouch is 4th choice. pfft.

If I had to choose between keeping Baros, or getting a new defender, I'd have to say bye bye Baros, but I still don't want him to leave. He can terrify defences and all people seem to say is that he doesn't look up enough. He is now entering the age range that most strikers begin to show their true colours and abilities. Why not give him a one year extension to find out and scrape up the money for a defender from different avenues. I think it would be a shame to see him go, but like I said, if we really do need his transfer fee and wages to bring in a tip top centre half, then I'll go for that. Sorry Milan...

Based on what mate? The best strike rate meaning he scored more goals? Or maybe he scored more often per number of shots expressed as a percentage?
They do say that it's possible to make statistics say anything you wish. That said, if you can find a stat which in way shape or form whatsoever suggests that Baros was one of the best strikers in the Prem before christmas I'll be staggered. He was one of the best strikers in the Prem when playing against Crystal Palace at home is just about the only one I can think of.

as in goals per game... obv i cnt be arsed digging through the net looking for figures but i remember looking on sky sports website at xmas coz i was arguing wiv my tottenham supporter mate abt defoe... n baros was like 2nd/3rd top scorer but he had scored more goals per game than ne1 else.

u old skool platinum gold card deluxe members think u know it all... in which case.. y r u here discussing stuff?

baros is quality, as u have all admitted. u were all slating crouch when we were first linked with him and now you're all going on like he's gonna be top scorer in the epl this year.
we've only won it 5 times

Is the right answer.

yes they do...Milan isn't on a huge contract here and Lyon wouldn't increase his wages....Villa will pay him an extra 10 k a week
