i think after alonso went off, our play went down a little.

Judging by todays performance, this will be my 1st 11.... (this is just my opinion based on todays performance...).

too early for me to be naming my formation. plus's for us tho are definately cisse and baros looking fresh. and zenden looking like hes been playing with us for longer than 2 or 3 games.
the sisoko kid will be class for us and alonso looks good.
all in all so far im happy with what ive seen

How good was Sissoko, thank god the bitters didnt buy him, you can see why rafa compared him to Viera put Viaras, head on his body you would'nt know the difference

Cant wait till the season starts we are oozing class, we are going to challenge for the title this year I know it.
The team looks class and we have quality in depth aswell.
Cisse how cool is he, :cool:

Baros still has to go though, lost an awful lot of possession, morientes didnt have any service so I cant critise him, in that body there is a world class striker just itching to get out.

he wasnt abit amused now he'is no longer number 1.
But we need clean sheets and although I thank him for the heroics in Istanbul he has made far to many mistakes in the past, plus next season he will be earning 65 thousand a week, some clause that Houllier made in his contract, thats an awful lot of money to pay your second goalie, if Reina is No1.

post match thoughts -

can't tell much. Bayer were 10x worse than when we played them in the CL, and the game was only played at about 60% pace. THerefore everything that follows might not count for much, but -

1. Cisse - took advantage of poor defending very well. Looked class and will have built his confidence
2.Alonso - only on for 1st half but his passing tore them to shreds. No doubt he'll get closed down quicker in real games, but that was a special performance.
3.Good to see Sissoko. Looks like body double for Viera. Looked more enthusiastic than quality, but I expect him to improve a lot with each game he plays.
4 Medjani - right back at h-t. Is he a right back? Looked to me as though he was asking himself the same question! Looked poor in a game where he should have been able to dominate. Moved to CB and then had absolutely nothing to do.
5. Zenden - never got into the game, had so little of the ball. Tried but didn't look committed. Probably thinks friendlies are beneath him. I expect him to show a lot more will when it counts.
6. Baros - where did that composure come from to put that goal away? Mind you he seemed to me to benefit from the Keeper's bizarre attempt to head away the chip, whem he could probably have caught it (check the highlights later - maybe I've been drinking too much!) Other than that the old headless chicken routine was regularly seen...........
7. Morientes - oh dear! - I still believe in him, but I can only put this performance down to what he's used to - at Real it would still be 2 months to the 1st competitive game, so maybe he's in hibernation or something

As for the rest, I'll be here all night if I write about everyone who turned out, but that sums up my thoughs - any views?

Number 6. Your right Neil, Baros just frustrates me, see that ball stevie layed on for him, Stevie not being gready could have put that away, instead he passes it to baros, and what did he do?
Baros is a very frustrating player to watch, he looks class from his appearence and what he does for the Czechs but I cannot see him being a Liverpool player this season.

Not sure if he broke his arm, but he is very injury prone, a cracking little player and gives his all. but we need cover for this position, if Kewell doesnt regain form, Risse will be used on the wing. And then we have Traore and he is not the class we need for the title.

very impressive performance tonight,alonso carragher sissoko really stood out tonight,the way alonso was passing the ball tonight was really stunning
