OMG! i cant believe people on here think nunez is actually gonna improve with a full pre season behind him, thats :censored:. The guy wouldnt improve with 3 years behind him, he hasnt the slightest bit of quality in him at all, i agree totally with Ace Ventura, he cant beat his man, and not one time have i seen him successfully round a player with any skill, anyone can knock a ball past a defender and chase after it 100 yards, that isnt skill, give me a red shirt and il do that, the guy has to go, believe me if we had more cover rafa wouldnt even pen him in the squad.
OH AND lawrenson_sarah IVE PENNED YOU IN MY SQUAD...WHAT A BABE!!!

Lets not kid ourseleves, he is garbage. As is Josemi, Kewell (lazy whinger), and Diao. I would not give Nunez another chance and would let him go for nowt to clear the decks.

Just read in the Echo now that Rafa's getting rid:

Meanwhile, Antonio Nunez has been told he will leave Anfield if the Reds receive an acceptable bid.

"I've spoken to Nunez and explained we've tried to find a club for him, but at the moment we haven't had the right offer," said Benitez.

"Celta Vigo are interested but there are other options."

at least we're being honest with the lad.  To be honest, i don't think Rafa wanted him, but at the time of the Owen deal we had little choice, but to accept a player in exchange and he was the best of a very average bunch.  With a bit of hope (lets make that a LOT) we'll get a couple of million for him  :Oo:

RAFA TELLS NUNEZ HE CAN LEAVE
Mark Platt 12 July 2005
Rafael Benitez has confirmed that Antonio Nunez will be allowed to leave Liverpool if the club receive the right offer.
Nunez arrived at Anfield only last August as part of the deal that saw Michael Owen join Real Madrid but after suffering an early injury he failed to establish himself as a regular in the Reds' first eleven.

Benitez has now decided that the Spanish winger is surplus to requirements and is inviting interested clubs to make an offer for him.

"I've spoken to Nunez and explained we've tried to find a club for him, but at the moment we haven't had the right offer. Celta Vigo are interested but there are other options," said the Liverpool boss today.

Nunez made 27 first team appearances for the Reds last season and scored one goal.

I guess it was not the first time he was part of a CL winning team. Maybe he made it to the bench when real won it a few years back. CL winner or not he needs to go.

Rafa has admitted that we are short on the right and if he is prepared to let Nunez go then he obviously doesn't rate him.

I think he is class pending he had a chance to prove it, aside from the Burnley freak out, he never looked bad when he did in fact play, in the event luis garcia gets injured, we are in a hole, pretty much the only other option is pongolle, and he isnt even a winger, so thats going to be the diouf dilemma all over again, then again Benitez seems alot less into wasting talent the GH, I think unless we sign a class right winger, we should hold on to him, unless we are going to throw le tellac on the right, that might be interesting, then again, I try to justify Le Tellac on the squad every season it seems .

Nunez regularly put his crosses into row z.  He was awful against Everton at their place, and he's been average at best.  I heard we've been offered 1.8 million, i'd take that and get rid.

I still wouldn't pay Real 2 million for Figo tho..i'd rather buy a winger from div1 (the chumpionship) instead.
