ST. MIKE'S RUMOUR THREAD - All silly season rumours here please

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

More rubbish for the bin  :D

Liverpool have today been linked with a possible move for Chelsea striker Mateja Kezman.

Reports originating from Spain claim that boss Rafael Benitez has been offered the opportunity to sign the former PSV Eindhoven hitman for a bargain £3.5million. Atletico Madrid are interested in signing the player so we're not sure if the link is genuine or not. It's likely that Rafa has been offered Kezman but whether or not the boss is considering a bid we simply do not know at this time.

Former boss Gerard Houllier tracked Kezman for some time and had it not been for Chelsea's sudden cash injection when Abramovich arrived on the scene, he would have probably ended up at Anfield.

Kezman is an absolutely awesome striker who during his PSV days reminded us of a young Robbie Fowler. However since moving to Chelsea he simply lost his form and never delivered which is no surprise because of the rotation system used by Mourinho as he tries to keep everyone happy.

At £3.5million Kezman would certainly be worth a gamble because under the right manager we're confident he would refind his touch. Anyway, we don't know if Rafa is interested but we'll add it to the hat regardless and see what happens.

Mateja Kezman...? :D

He's the best striker when he was at Dutch league year ago. After being at EPL ,peter crouch is better than him.

So what's the story if we bring kuyt here....STOP!!! :p

desperado you are correct about kezman but obviously forgettin van nistelrooy. yes he is a diving horse-like prat but he has been a major success in the prem, aside form last season when he was out for a long time with an injury

Whats with all this comparing Kezman with Kuijt?? Ok, so they both scored shedloads in the Dutch league.. but Kuijt looks like he may be another of a fine line of strikers to have come from holland...
Cruyff, van bastan, Guillet, robben, bergkamp, Kluivert... the dutch have produced many quality forwards.

Kuijt, is strong, has good movement, works very hard and is a great header of the ball.
I have only seen a few of his games, (and i admit i have only started looking at his games after the transfer speculation, beforehand i knew very little about him too), but to compare him to Kezman just because they both scored alot is a little weak.
You should try to analyse a few of his games and then we can make our assumptions on wehter he is the right kind of striker that LFC need at the moment.
