Maybe its redknapps retirement but I began to think about the 1990s at LFC. We won the league with a very poor team in 1990, and then the slide. Won an FA cup in 1992 (only beating one premiership team on the way - Villa), won the mickey mouse a couple of times.
We had rubbish players like Nickey Tanner, Piechneck, Hysen etc. All our big buys like Dean Saunders, Clough, Stewart, Collymore etc were disappointing.
the "new breed" of Rednapp, Fowler, Mcmanamann etc had great potential but all thought they were "hot shots" before they won anything, lived the high life, thought they were superstars and never lived the life a professional should. All went to injury problems much younger than they should (Gazza maintains drinking weakened his body and made it susceptible to injury)
Are there any good memories of the 90s or shall we pretend it never happened?
