We went to the match,me Dad and me
Across Stanley Park to see LFC
My first time there apart from reserves
A ten year old boy
Shakining with nerves
One nil to the reds it made my day
The firt time I saw,Liverpool play
Can I come again, I said to my Dad
Season ticket son thats what youll have
The Kop, was the Kop
Not filled with seats
No Macdonalds for something to eat
A tea,or an oxo was all to be had
And a bottle of beer to satisfy Dad
No replica shirts
No Reebok tops
It was a privelage to stand on that Kop
Hat and a scarf, and a stool to stand on
No use dreaming those days are long gone
Now as I go and sit in my seat,
There is no suspect liquid, surrounding my feet
Caviar and Champers, for those down below
Executive box
At ten grand a go
Change for the better, people may say
But I would change nothing
From my special day
It will soon be me,takin my lad
But for my special memories,
Thanks Dad.
