Again according to teamtalk, Rafael Benitez is chasing Valencia-star, Pablo Aimar. The Argentinian is valued at 10 millions pound. Here is a link to the article: Rafa Chases Pablo Aimar

Well I reckon he could be a good buy. The guy is skillful and can open up defences

I know he is small but he has skill and could be a great buy

Id imagine Rafa will look for an enforcer as well

I brought my father-in-law to watch Spurs against Blackburn in their last game of the season (hes been following Spurs since the 60's and i've promised him for years that i'd bring him over to a game).  But Carrick was absolutely shocking.  His passing was awful.  Perhaps he was thinking of his summer holidays too much.  Either way he reminds me of Jamie Redknapp, has a reputation as being a decent ball player but when the going gets tough I don't think he will ever be in the midfield class of Gerrard, Alonzo, Viera, Keane or Lampard.

Personally i like to see any big spending done to strengthen the defence.

as great as pablo aimar is, signing him doesn't really make sense to me. i just don't see where he'd play in the system that we use. it seems blatantly obvious to me that rafa wants to use morientes in the withdrawn striker role next season and we also have garcia who can play in that position. ???

i really dont know about aimar n how he would be able to adapt to the physical side of english football.    plus hes already 28 years old and will only have about 3 good years left in him,   n for 10 million i reckon we could get someone thats is younger n maybe could adapt better to the english game.   dont get me wrong i rate aimar very highly but not for the english game, just like most south american players, they just arent suited to the physical side over here.

n i would love to see carrick come to anfield i think he will be a great player n someone that could possible replace hamman in the future.

If we could get Aimar for 10 mil, we mihgt as well go the extra bit and pay 15 mil for Wright-Phillips - who we know can play in  English football. As for Carrick - maybe later, when Hamann finally goes, which hopefully won't be this year. But the most important thing is a left back - Traore has improved vastly this season - but he isn't really a left back, and he won't win us the league.
