Morientes + cisse - Has this been said before?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Next season we should be more courageous and play 4-4-2 in the premiership with Morientes and Cisse up front.  In europe we should stick to what has been successful this season 4-5-1 with Gerrard in the advanced midfield role.

I think that Morientes and Cisse will play well alongside one another.

IMO = In my opinion

Surprisingly enough, you asked the question using another acronym (btw), and IMO, they are both as frequently used. So there should not be any excuse in not knowing IMO but knowing btw.

Benitez will stick with 1 up front imo. just look at the team he left valencia with- loadsa midfielders(baraja, albelda, aimar, mista, vicente, angulo) and very i think only 1 or 2 out and out strikers. I'm not sure if cisse is a good lone striker as he was sh1t in september against man u but then he scored 2 goals against villa
Steve Gerrard Gerrard,
He'll pass the ball 40 yards,
He's quick and he's f*cking hard,
Steve Gerrard Gerrard.

4-4-2 is the preferred choice if we are playing in the premiership.. however, having morientes playing a deeper role, will it affect his goal scoring chances, shouldn't he be the main striker? i think garcia play better at left wing position than at right wing.. wat we really lack is the right wing to swing in crosses for strikers.. do u think we will buy one more proven striker?

I think it has already been said but Morientes naturally drops back a little deeper so i think we will need to have another striker alongside him whenever he plays.

someone like cisse? or someone like baros, i seriously dun think we will have enough money to spend on CB, GK, RW, LW, ST ... if u want proven players than they dun come cheap, if we realli see a major overhaul, it will be like this season, a trasitional season, news players have to settle, then we will again not see the full potential of liverpool next season..

I hope Cisse doesn't play out wide like I've seen him in a few games, I hate when centre forwards do that, its a cop out, reminds me of Collymore who was  big fast centre forward out on wing while only 1 player in box.

Centre forward should not go wider than the box, not much anyway.

I reckon Garcia should be the  central attacking midfielder, but this makes it difficult to have 2 strikers aswell. for eg;

                                     Alonso
               Gerrard                                Kewell
                                     Garcia
                                            Mori
                                Cisse

:censored: for width, but a good direct, attacking formation. (Who would miss out if we bought a Right Winger!?! It'd be harsh to drop Garcia...bye bye Kewell!!!!!!!!lol!!!! :p  Up the 'pool!

The lone striker system;

                             Gerrard          Alonso

           ?                                                      Kewell
                                            Garcia

                              Cisse/Mori
