Morientes + cisse - Has this been said before?

Morientes and Ciise playing as lone striker didn't show much force. We needed Garcia and Gerrard to move forward. I agree we need to resort to 2 striker up front.. save and except if we play a defensive midfield game then a 4-5-1 formation is ok.

But baring in mind we have no other fit strikers available... if Baros actually leaves. Then I think we have to be cautious. When is Sinama and Mellor is coming back. The duo can be  good subsitutes if we start with Morientes and Ciise

Two strikers up front does obviously look a better way to go ,Rafa though prefers one up front.

We will have to see what he does in pre-season .

Although somebody on here suggested a 4-2-3-1 which also looks a good formation.

Lets be honest on what we've seen sofar, Morientes and absolutely anybody wouldn't work. He clearly has found the English game not to his liking this season, "Give him time, remember Pires FFS, he hasn't played for six months etc etc etc" (not saying that the putdowns I'll get are predictable or anything).
Hopefully next season, his undoubted class which has occasionally flashed through the fog of mediocrity will mean that he comes through. He has to find the desire though. Does he want to be here? does he want play? Without those qualities nobody ever succeeded anywhere.
My prediction? He won't do the business for us. Mind you I'd love to be wrong because he's looked top-class in the CL for Monaco.

No it aint we are using 4-5-1 now.

We arent using two defensive midfielders behind a row of three.

IMO = In my opinion

Surprisingly enough, you asked the question using another acronym (btw), and IMO, they are both as frequently used. So there should not be any excuse in not knowing IMO but knowing btw.

With Nandos heading ability he can just flick the ball on for Cisse to chase with his pace all day .

Morientes is not that sort of player, people made this assumption, and so did the team in his debeut aganist Man Utd.

He is fantastic in the air when attacking corners, free kicks and quality crosses.

He doesnt like the ball lobbed up to him, he likes it into feet.

If we wanted someone to get flick ons we might aswell have kept Heskey!
