Morientes + cisse - Has this been said before?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

i wna see these two given the chance to develop into the best front line in the premiership.

i know benny likes 1 up front but i still remember we used to play much better with 2 up front earlier in the season.

el moro n baros didnt click but that's because baros isnt a team player.

do u reckon we'll see much of it next season?
we've only won it 5 times

Hope so...Cisse can see players around him, so who knows it might work out well.  Can wait until the preseason friendlies so we can see Rafa experiment.

They are my preferred front two, but we'll see what happens next season.

benitez has been planning for this ever since he brought morientes to the club. in the long term he knew that he wanted to use a 4-2-3-1 formation with morientes playing just off cisse. to me, this is morientes' best position as it is his natural instinct to drop deep a lot of the time.

                                    dudek

      finnan         carragher         hyypia           riise

                       alonso             gerrard

            garcia              morientes             kewell

                                   cisse

with everyone fit and playing well, that team would be devastating imo. next season, this will be the formation we play i think, possibly minus hyypia, dudek and even kewell. we used the formation against arsenal at home and produced our best league display of the season.

baros will be off without any doubt.

St. do you really think that rafa will play Riise at LB. With him prasing Jimmy and rumoured to be looking at Evra, I would say that Riise should be given the LB role with rafa working with him during pre-season at his defensive play.

but for the demise of mr kewell, riise would probably have played this entire season at left back. it's where he plays for his country and it's where he had always played for us before this season. during the season we finished 2nd, he was devastating from that position, popping up late in the box. i think he scored something like 8 goals.

as for him not being a good defender, is this the same guy who marked wright phillips out of the game when we played man city at anfield? it's not that he can't defend, it's the fact that under houllier, he lost all confidence in himself and had a poor couple of seasons. same with steve finnan.

IMO = In my opinion

Surprisingly enough, you asked the question using another acronym (btw), and IMO, they are both as frequently used. So there should not be any excuse in not knowing IMO but knowing btw.

I'd like to see this partnership. But in saying that baros and cisse looked good together but i think milan is going this season. But it seems to me that all this season benitez like to play with only the one man up front.

Cisse was bought for 14MIL and Morinetes for 6.5MIL, neither are yet to settle proporaly, idellay we would go out and buy a proven Preimership striker, but I think that would be a bit unfair, both deserve the chance to be playing regualry so that they can adapt and then they can be judged. It is hard for players to adapt to a new league when he can get a run of games going.

I agree that with St Mike in that Cisse will be used as the main striker with Moreintes slightly deeper. At least Morientes gives us two option becuase he can play right up.

Both players are going to improve i think
I hope Morientes does , dont think hes had a proper chance to develop as of yet!!

In the final i recon Rafa should start Cisse upfront with Baros...
I recon it would work better that way

I reckon as lawrenson_sarah ses Morientes will improve but hasn't had much chance to.Next season if we sell baros we cud play Nando and Cisse upfront. But for backup sinama and mellor they will be good prospects for the futre.(there gonna be gud)I have to say cisse against Arsenal troubled the defence but cud not score.good upfronters next year.good post
