Do you people like Cisse or not because most posts on Cisse since the Juve game have had hardly any replies?

Would you play him tomorrow?

And do you rate him?

He is the greatest! BIG up Djibril

Yeah, I like him. :D :D

I'm pleased as fu*k that he got on the pitch the other night.  As I recall, there were only two incidents in the match he was involved in; one, he knocked it past (I think...) Zambrotta down the right wing and the ba$tard obstructed him.  He would have went past him no probs, and secondly there looked like there was a 50-50 a few minutes after that and he just pulled out of it but that's acceptable after 10 mins back in the first team.

He broke his leg in October after 15 games, but due to this unfortunate injury for the cause, he will probably always have a place in the hearts of Liverpool fans forever, due to his rapid rate of recovery and the fact that if you have been reading the reports, it sounds like he simply couldn't wait to get back into the first 11.  He wants to play for the club and in my opinion will be given time to do it.

Somehow, the pressure he was under at the start of the season seems a million times diluted.  Three goals in fifteen games was it?  Forget about it!  He can just get on with scoring goals now, and every one will be cheered, with the realisation that we are lucky to even see a goal from him, as he could have lost his leg remember.  :( :)

I'm not sure he even played a reserve game before Juventus on Wednesday.  Can anyone clarify that?

However if Morientes is fit, we should play him over Cisse as he wasn't scheduled to come back until next season, and Fernando needs the match fitness himself for the run-in.  So I would still leave Cisse out of the side, maybe a few reserve games, some hard training, getting his fitness back and building that leg up again.

Even keep him for the Champions League semi's specifically as a potent weapon.

Don't expect the world from him if he does play again this season, but let's look forward to seeing him at full throttle next season.

He scored 3 goals in 10
And no he hadn't played a reserve game.

I can't see him pulling his way back into the Liverpool 1st 11 this season but played as a used sub most games.

Pace hasn't been lost and he needs to improve his all round game a bit more but I can see him being a good player.

He said himself after the game on wednesday night, he should be used as a sub mostly(last 10-15 mins)  in the next few games to build up strenght and  play it safe after coming back from such a horrific injury,I cant see him starting saturday verse spurs, but it was great to see him back verse Juve. :;):

We luv him but we cant really comment on his 20 minute cameo appearence now can we ???
Fantastic achievement getting fit so quick with that terrible break in his leg :Oo: , put harry kewell to shame any day of the week.
The commentator the other night was saying something about how quick he can run in 10 seconds, cant quite remember how quick it was I know it was fast but I was drunk so I forget :D
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Love the guy, I think that he will be a big player for us once he gets used to the Premiership just look at Henry, he took time but look at him now, and Djibril's rated almost if not as highly as him in France, it must of taken alot of bottle to play as soon as he is after what happened, good luck to the man, a prime example of determination and dedication to the club and his profession.

I don't think he'll be as good as people say.

Would be nice if i was proven wrong though. He has the potential to become a good player for us thought. I think given time, confidence and games he'll come good. He's a real athlete and seems to have half a brain with it aswell. The only thing i think he lacks is grit and determination on the pitch.

I'm not going to sit here and argue the toss with people about how he's only just come back from injury, and he must be determined because he wouldn't have come back so soon, the fact is you either have it, or you don't, and if you don't have it, which he hasn't shown in the 16 games he's played, its something you need to develop. If you're thinking about having a pop at me for saying this, Stephen Warnock is the prime example, three leg breaks and he still flys into tackles like theres no tomorrow.

Amazing recovery though. I thought pre-season would have been a realistic target. Unreal.

Cisse had a serious reputation in France, particularly 2 or 3 years ago when the French spoke of him as being one of their greatest ever prospects. He was fast and powerful with terrific balance.

I had only ever seen brief cameos of him.

Houllier hyped him a lot for 2 years before we signed him.

He had a decent season last year in France, scoring a lot of goals.

I think he suffered a bit when he joined us. I think the Premiership surprised him and a lot of pressure was put on him after the departure of Owen.

He showed some serious problems with the offside rule before he got injured. In the Monaco home game he must have been caught offside at least a dozen times. His touch looked all over the place at times as well.

There's been a lot of hype about him, a lot of which leaves me mystified. I was reading a popular Chelsea forum last night and a lot of Chelsea fans were raving about Cisse, saying that he's a major danger.

In some ways, his injury might have done him the world of good. It has brought him back down to earth. Benitez has raved about his attitude.

Don't forget that Cisse is our most expensive signing and we need him to come good. We've blown enough money on players over the past 15 years, so its about time at least one big money signing lived up to the promise.

When he arrived I had serious misgivings about his attitude and temperament, butit looks like his attitude is absolutely SPOT ON. Did you see the 10-mile-wide grin across his face when the final whistle went on wednesday?  It looks to me like he's pretty well-liked by his team-mates and that's a good sign

I think as we get to the 2nd half of next season he will be fantastic

Cisse has done well in France for 3 seasons, he is natural athlete with decent strength, good pace and a good shot.

But there many parts to his game that need improving. His work rate of the ball is next to non-existent. I was disappointed with his first touch and technical ability as I was expecting much better for a £14 Million player. He gets caught offside an awful lot. And his play has been very 1 dimensional, he just looked for the ball through the middle every time a midfielder picked up the ball, he doesn’t even look what is happening with the play he just makes the run.

He seems to have the natural attributes to make it but he needs an awful lot of work before he can become a top Premiership marksman.

But all credit to him for working hard to over come the horrific injury, and for showing the hunger to get on the pitch. I think if Rafa has time to work with him and he listens he can improve a lot.

I used to watch him in the French Ligue 1 when it was on tv here in oz and i always thought he was a great player.  Hes not a zidane style player who runs with the ball glued to his foot, he is a player who makes great use of his pace and strength and likes to tap and run.  He might need to work more on timing his runs but i still think he has the potential to be absolutely fantastic for us

eeer...I won't go so far as to call him a genius. But agree I have nothing but respect for his grit and desire. He show us he have heart and the courage to succeed (read this and weep Harry!), and i think after his injury there will be less expectation from the fans and with the addition of Morientes, it will actually do him the world of good and we might just see the best of him come next season.

My judgement on whether he will be a success is still reserved, he has shown glimpses of his talent before his injury but also some weaknesess eg his touch an timing of runs, they need to be improved but i'm sure Benitez will have him working on them.
Whats impressed me most about him though is his desire to play for this club...right from the start he has said how proud he is to be wearing the famous red shirt and thats exactly what we want from our players.
The speed he has recovered in is remarkable and i am sure he could form an exciting partnership with Morientes once he learns how to time his runs better. Henry took time to adjust to the premiership...and although Cisse will never have Henrys control and vision his pace and power will cause problems against anyone.
