I wish he could have performed like he does for the czechs I like him i think he works very hard but I really think he wont be a Liverpool player next season.
Baros will not be able to play in the Premiership until April 20 at Portsmouth, leaving him just five league matches left this season.
But with the Champions League quarter-final against Juventus on Tuesday, and the return in Turin a week later, Baros will be an automatic choice because former Real Madrid striker Fernando Morientes is cup-tied and Benitez has an injury crisis among his other forwards.
"Since Milan received his red card we have talked about the situation and now he says he wants to do his best for the team, the club and the fans against Juventus," said Benitez.
"We have lots of striking problems - they are the same for the league as well as the Champions League but just the names change.
"Milan can't play in the league for a while and Fernando can't play in the Champions League. They will swap."
Baros has been on World Cup duty with the Czech Republic this week, scoring against both Finland and Andorra to take his tally to 18 goals in 27 internationals.
If he had managed anything like that consistency for Liverpool, Benitez would probably not be considering selling him in the summer as part of a major Anfield revamp.
But for now he needs the striker as Djibril Cisse, Neil Mellor, Florent Sinama-Pongolle and Harry Kewell are all injured, although Cisse believes he could be fit to play in the last month of the season after recovering from his broken leg.
Valencia want Baros, and their caretaker manager Antonio Lopez has said: "Baros would bring force to our attack and make a great contribution to Valencia."
Benitez declined to discuss what will happen in the summer but may well want a swap deal with his former club involving Mista, Vincente or Pablo Aimar.
But before that takes place he would like a consistent contribution from Baros in Europe as Liverpool fight to reach an improbable semi-final.
