Here's where we need to strengthen and who we have a chance of getting:

Keeper: Need experience.  Canizares would be good for a couple of years yet (33 i think).  Bin Dudek AND Kirkland.

Centre-back: Kuffour a good bosman and reckon he'd sign.  Someone like Mellberg for cover is a decent shout also. Lose Pelle and possibly Sami.

Midfield: Crying out for a good winger, SWP is realistic i think, 10-15 mil maybe?

Forward:  Reckon Baros will leave.  I think Robbie Keane would be a good signing for 5-7 mil.  At 24 his best years are still ahead of him.  He's a Liverpool fan and always gives 100%  May not score enuff but i think he can improve this.

If we get 10 mil for Baros and some more from selling fringe ****** i think we could sign all these guys in the summer.

Of course Rafa will instead sign the malaga reserve team!!

id never wanna buy robbie keane sorry. i just dont think hes good enough (plus that somersault and shooter mcgavin style goal celebration really gets on my tits.)
Also id keep hypia and dudek for another season.
SWP is a good shout but would never happen, plus the wings arent where we are gonna have to spend if stevie g goes and im sticking with vdv and hargreaves

but robbie keane? please no

mike
hes got a great engine, hes also versatile and a good player. hes been in outstanding form in germany and i think if it was between him and parker id prefer hargreaves any day.

id rather get bommel, vdv or ballack but what i think we are gonna need is an engine... he has shown some flair recently as well but with alonso in the middle as well as stevie g i think its just a good shout. personalyl tho hamman will stay nother season if u ask me so it might not matter

Fair enuf robbie keane has a ****** celebration, but thats all i agree with!!

He is a good player and anyone who has watched him for Ireland will know that.  He is our record goal scorer and is only 24.

Spurs are a bad side and he isn't improving playing for then.

I seriously think he'd be good for us.

As for VDV he flatters to deceive and doesn't perform in important games for holland

I also think Gerrard will stay another year and right wing is our weakest position so thats where we need to spend the money

Aye,

Out of your list dawson I'd take Defoe first I reckon. but being realistic if he moves on he will be staying in London I think.

Keane is only top of my list out of players that I've heard of that I think would be up for a move to us, thats all.

Ah well

Owen Hargreaves is overrated. He doesn;t know what he is doing out there. I prefer Baraja.

Hargreaves isn't as good as what we have.  Even if Stevie leaves, I'd rather hamann and alonso than hargreaves.

He is another typical example of a player being overrated simply because he is English.

Sven doesn't help matters by picking him for England, which helps reinforce the the myth that he is actually a good player.

Goalkeepers

Robinson - Expensive and unlikely to move.
Kiraly - 1 season doesn’t make a good player.
Niemi - Too old.
Abtiati - too expensive and won't do well in the Premiership, too small (like Dudek).
Cudicini - Maybe a sensible and realistic option if Rafa wants a new number 1.
Given - Very unlikely to come.
Hilderbrand - Who?
Frey - If top clubs don't go for him, then may be a good option.

Defenders

Upson - Not LFC quality.
Chivu - Won't come to us.
Mexes - Don’t think he is suited to Premiership.
Cesar - Never seen him play.
Woodgate - Wont be going anywhere this summer, and too expensive.
King - Is too expensive, probably wouldn’t be interested and would probably be courted by top three clubs.
Bridge - Overrated, 1 footed, slow.
Mellberg - O.K, but I think we could do better.
Evra - Good player, if we wanted a new left back. But I think he is going to Milan.
Metzleder - has suffered with injuries, question marks about whether he is the same.
Gray - Not good enough.
Kuffour - One that I have suggested several times, free transfer, expericed Champions League winner pace, power and at his peak age.

Midfielders

David Pizzaro - Milan will probably get him.
Jankoluvski - Bigger club will get him.
Rothen - Maybe, but just went to PSG this summer.
Igabaza - Who
Yeste - Isn’t that an ingredient in bread?
Parker - Will be available, I like him, but Rafa will not buy him.
Ballack - There is a small chance, but I think a bigger club will come in for him if he is leaving.
Vincente - A possibility, and a good one, but again a bigger club may come in.
Baraja - Another good player, but don’t think he will leave.
Albelda - O.K player.
Fiore - No thank you, too old.
Rosicky - Maybe, if he can play right wing.
Fabregas - Are you serious, why would he swap Arsenal for us.
Iniesta - Again, are you serious?

Forwards

AJ - No thank you, 1 season wonder (Kevin Philips scored 30 Premiership goals in 1 season and now he cant even get past Peter Crouch).
Defoe - Wont come too us, and too expensive, bigger clubs may be sniffing.
Owen - Will stay in Spain, and if he does come back he will go to a top three side.
Torres - Very expensive, but we may try, again bigger clubs may be interested.
Bojinov - Think your talking about Lecce player.
Mista - Just signed new contract.
Gilardino - Bigger club will get him.
Cassano – LOL

Only realistic targets are:

Goalkeepers

Cudicini - Maybe a sensible and realistic option if Rafa wants a new number 1.
Frey - If top clubs don't go for him, then may be a good option.

Defenders

Cesar - Never seen him play.
Mellberg - O.K, but I think we could do better.
Evra - Good player, if we wanted a new left back. But I think he is going to Milan.
Metzleder - has suffered with injuries, question marks about whether he is the same.
Kuffour - One that I have suggested several times, free transfer, experienced Champions League winner pace, power and at his peak age.

Midfielders

Rothen - Maybe, but just went to PSG this summer.
Parker - Will be available, I like him, but Rafa will not buy him.
Ballack - There is a small chance, but I think a bigger club will come in for him if he is leaving.
Vincente - A possibility, and a good one, but again a bigger club may come in.
Albelda - O.K player.
Rosicky - Maybe, if he can play right wing.

Forwards

Torres - Very expensive, but we may try, again bigger clubs may be interested.

We need a defender with genuine recovery pace. We need two wide men and a central midfielder. And possibly a third striker who can compliment Morientes and Cisse.
"We’ve got a lot of Cockneys in the team, but really, it doesn’t matter where they’re from – we’re all playing for Liverpool.” Robbie Fowler
