Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

For me the MOM is Biscan . He control the midfield like he's the Boss in midfield area . His tackle like SG and his passing skill like Alonso . Hopefully he can perform like that in every match .

MOM = Raffa the Gaffer....  class
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

Rise or Hamann for me. Biscan plays to the expected level for once and everyone creams their pants !!!! :D This is what a Premiership player costing circa 6M SHOULD play like. Biscan was impressive but it stood out because for so long and in too many games he hasn't been  ???

Agreed.

I don't buy into this whole "Igor is a legend" nonsense. The guy played well last night, had a few good Carling Cup games and also played well away to Deportivo.

Big deal....it was about time he earned his wages and justified the massive outlay we have spent on him. If he keeps it up then maybe he might be good enough for a contract extension, but I don't think so.

Riise is my man of the match followed very closely by Didi Hamman, who controlled midfield.

must of been watching a different game from the rest of us, riise by a long way for MOM

biscan needs to do what he did last night, week in week out to justify his wage and transfer price.

JBG I THINK YOU ARE  HARSH ON IGOR THERE THIS IS THE FIRST SEASON WE HAVE SEEN HIM PLAY IN HIS PROPER POSITION . DONT GET ME WRONG  I KNOW HE IS NO ZIDANE BUT THE LAD DOES HAVE  A FAIR BIT OF ABILITY AND HE IS STARTING TO SHOW IT  ITS ALL ABOUT CONFIDENCE IMHO.

After the first half, I thought it was going to be between Igor and Riise, but to be honest over the 90 mins it was definitely Jon Arne. He really did run himself ragged, and it's brilliant to see someone on that side happy to fearlessly run at the full back like that. I know people have their reservations about him as left winger, but that's the kind of performance that makes me think he's well worth persevering with up there. It's the kind of raw, passionate play that's almost at odds with what we've been expecting from Kewell on the left, and to be honest I prefer 90 mins of graft that may or may not yield results to the sort of on/off trickery that we've been getting from Harry. Even if the opposition's right back has a good game, you know that Riise's going to make him earn his corn.

Definitely an honorable mention to Igor as well though. If only he can translate that sort of performance into consistent Prem form - a couple of his through balls were as good as any I've seen from Stevie or Alonso this season.
