according to newspaper reports this morning, jamie carragher is poised to sign an extension to his current contract at liverpool which still has two years to run.

and well deserved. lets face it, he'll be at liverpool for life. :cool:

on current form, possibly only ferdinand and terry are playing better than jamie. in many respects he has become our most important player this season (infact i don't think he has missed a league game).

lets just hope we can find a top notch centre half to partner him next season. then we'll have a great partnership.

I agree that Carra has been the best Liverpool player this season. While Gerrard has chipped in with more telling contributions, he has been in and out of form a lot this season.

I read a Tony Cascarino article that Gerrard has been distracted by a possible move away from Anfield and it was much the same at Aston Villa in 1990 with David Platt.

I totally agree. Carragher has been outstanding. I'll be dissapointed if someone wanted to buy him in the summer because he has played so well this season its unbelievable. Glad we are offering a new contract:)

Agreed, Carra has been outstanding this year. He deserves to be rewarded for his passion, commitment and determination.
