Baros

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Yeah i hope he comes back and is the best striker we have ever had my point was is that a few people on here have got clouded veiws of how he played for Liverpool because he has not played for a while. And what has he done in England? his record is in the French league which I still have respect for but the premership is another story.

Apparently...
We are selling Milan Baros in the summer, this is why Bellamy recently turned down his move to birmingham. The Newcastle star is said to want a move to liverpool and with baros going in the summer Liverpool are frantically trying to finalise financial matters.
Bellamy would then be available for the champions league... where we will play him on the right wing

maybe its rubbish abuot baros but its well known that bellamy wants to come to us. i have been thinking about it long and hard and in all hopnesty i could see a bellamy morientex partnership working pretty well, but i dunno, heads spinning lately with the rumour mill in overdrive

i put this in somewhere else but apprently now blackburn will sell freguson to get bellamy. its all go today!!!

Dawson thats the biggest loud of bull I've heard. The reason Bellamy was upset in the first place was because he was played as a winger and not in his natural position. And you think Rafa would sign a player like Bellamy? Think again.

Bellamy will be signed pernamently by Celtic in the summer as he is on a loan with Celtic at the moment.

I think Baros has improved as far as awareness goes. He makes an impact on the pitch. He wins the free kicks and the corners, he causes trouble for the back four of the opposition. He has improved as a player under Rafa and will continue to do so in my  opinion.

Milan Baros is the sort of attacker that defences, whether you're Brazil or Bury, hate. He is doing from up front, what Steve McManaman did from midfield. He doesn't just attack goal mouths, he attacks defences with exquisite control and blinding pace. I believe that he has the potential and ability to become one of, if not the, best strikers in the world. He will develop a partnership with morientes over time and I am comfortable that they will become astoundingly successful together. Selling Milan Baros would be almost as big a mistake as selling Michael Owen, and couldn't we have done with some of his goals this season. If someone came to me, wanting to buy Milan Baros, I wouldn't except less than £30m and even then I'd be reluctant. He has class and that's exactly what we can't afford to lose at the moment.

If I was Baros and decided to log on here, (unlikely I know but run with it anyway) I would be amazed at the stuff people post. The lad has worked his nuts off and carried our attack single-handed all season and some can't wait for us to sign every Tom, Dick or Harry or for Cisse (who didn't exactly set the World alight) to return so we can get rid of him.
He was the top scorer at the Euros but was lucky. He scores bucketloads at International level but that's because they are a good team. He lacks awareness because he doesn't pass, he's the first selfish striker some on here have ever seen.
Jeez' guys, what has the bloke got to do? just because he has intimated that if Barcelona came in he would be packing his bags (& I ask you in all honesty, who in the Liverpool squad with the possible exception of Carra wouldn't right now) it seems he'll never get the credit he deserves.
I'm not his number 1 fan, Jim Morrison is. He was praising him up when most of us still had doubts but give the lad some credit. I for one think he has been fantastic this season.

Hear hear.
His workrate is 120% for us in most games he was lashed on the bench for years under Houllier, another striker of his quality would have well left by now. And incidently do yous know that hes wearing one boot bigger than the other, cause his foots black and blue and swollen through defenders stomping on his feet all the time.

There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

He has improved immensely this season.  I don't know if it's the added confidence from the Euros, or Benitez and his coaching staff, it he's improving.  I think in a month or two, he and Morrientes, when they learn about each other, will be deadly.  Add Cisse to the melting pot for next season........ummmm

I agree with Big Mick, words of wisdom again.

Mistyred - I am NOT saying that Cisse is bad and I never expect much from a foreigner in the first 6 months (Morientes too). I was just asking what did he do when playing for LFC that means that Baros should play second fiddle or bench warmer to him.
Baros has proved himself for LFC.

If Baros, Morientes and Cisse are all fit (some day!), then one of them will probably have to be a bench warmer. I don't think it should be Baros and whichever of them is on the bench their followers will be screaming for them to play.

Ok Baros is a great skillfull player there is no doubting it but is he the sort of player for the new Liverpool?i personally doubt it he is very selfish hardly ever pass's the ball and when he dosnt get the ball passed to him he go's in a strop ,Now everyone is prolly saying that a strikers job is to be selfish and score goals while that is true to an extent i would prefer a player who likes to shoot at goal but can also recognise when another player has a better opportunity and then lay on to that said player. But on the other side of the coin i think if he gains that awareness (and it is getting better) i think he could compliment Nando no end but not the other way around Nando will be the main striker for Lfc for the next few years not Baros now if he can handle being second fiddle then fine and dandy but i personally think he wont like it and will ask for a transfer in the summer.
Remember its just my opinion and  people arnt asked to agree with me

I have always stuck up for Baros mostly against stu :D i love the guys guts and determination and actually think when the strikers are all fit Rafa will have a healthy dilema of who to pick on his hands.

But how many games has he missed? How many has he played in, half-fit coz we've had no other options? Unfortunately he got injured right in the middle of a purple patch, right after scoring his first hatrick for the club if i remember rightly.

Baros,Cisse and Morientes, all three could play at the same time and I don't think any of them will be warming the bench.

Cisse can be played as a winger, he has the pace and he can cross the ball. Remember Thierry Henry?
