and as I expected, this whole thing has turned into a slanging match. I sympathise with the moderators as I would imagine it is soul destroying to be contrbuting the hours that they are only to be criticised for it time and time again.

As with anything else, you don't like it, you are free to look somewhere else, start up your own forum and run it the way that you want, should you feel the need. I doubt most would though as it is easier to sit and complain.

I do agree with the comment that some of the most frequent posters can be more than forthright with their own opinions and dismissive of others, but that is also an archetypal footie fan as well. That is also why we post on a forum.....debate

If you disagree with someones opinion, state your own. If someone resorts to insults or other crudity....ignore it and don't feed the fire.....simple as that.

Stan Laurel did raise some good points, and to be honest, those points have been raised before and will be raised again.

It impossible to be here 24/7 and be completely even handed and fair. We don't believe in banning people unless its absolutely necessary, as you can see Redrider/turdinator is still here. As such we are asking people to self moderate themselves, otherwise this place would be a police state where you would be afraid to open your mouth in case you were banned or had your post deleted.

As I said, its impossible to be 100% fair, and perhaps Roberts and AB might feel a bit discriminated against lately when they got suspended for a few days, as they might legitimately argue that other people are also guilty of abuse and fights. However, Roberts and AB were guilty of frequent messing and their row was fairly severe and it took place across about a dozen threads, which wasn't on. They both know that it wasn't on and we let them back in after a few days which I think was fairly fair: on other places their usernames and email address would have been banned for good.

I myself have made a number of threads over the past year or so asking why people cannot settle disagreements by debate and not through abuse, sadly no one listened to me then and no one will listen to me in the future

: that's simply human nature. We can't police it all but we'll deal with the worst offenders and then its down to individual members to consider what Stan Laural wrote in the first post of this thread and Andy_q's post later on in the thread: both of these posts constitute the question and the answer to the problem.

Up to a few hours ago I would have got annoyed by kindaretarded, but he's provided me with an entertaining afternoon. I don't think he's as crazy as some other people make out, but I do think he's a mild version of dapioneer who is here on a p.iss take, and enjoys playing the roll of the odd ball everyone dislikes.

Anyway, by this stage he should have enough material for his book: "Kindaconfused: The Story of an Internet Legend and Champion of Men in dirty Anaroks everywhere!"

You all seem to be fixated by inane arguments and no-body is paying any attention to my posts or my argument.

Again I will tell you, that I am not associated with Kindaconfused, The Turdinator or indeed any other alias.
I have told you I work for a company which employs >5000 people in the UK, >20000 people worldwide. In the UK we have 18 offices covering the entire UK, all operating through the same server, all with similar Email addresses.
I have posted from at least 4 different offices in my travels, we have 9 alone in the London area. You will not have noticed any difference in the ISDN nrs or whatever.
I have a completely different style of post to any of the above alias names, I have even been amused by your confusion over my involvement which continued even after I had told you I was not connected and I have not complained.
I have never abused anyone in any of my posts, the majority of which have been on relevant LFC Football Topics, I have attempted to be Serious, inventive and sometimes amusing, I have attemted to join in with the spirit of your discussion pages and in the process become aware of several shortcomings which I pointed out for your interest in my inital post on this topic.
I am not telling you how to be a moderator on your forum, how you proceed is entirely up to yourself. However, to respond to my advice with another post that effectivly condones a lewd photograph and then follow it up with other suggestive comments that are designed as insults leaves me wondering about your maturity.
Anyway, I have looked at your recent submissions and applied the same logic that I mentioned last night, Can I recommend this site to my Son and Daughter ?
I am more than ever convinced now that the answer is NO, the same applies to me. I am Off !!

I must admit Homebooby that I am not really aware of you on the forum, but that is a very good point.

The Hustler used to try and engage people in scraps, and it was self defeating when people got into rows with him, as that is just what he wanted. Turning the other cheek drove him crazy.

I've been on since the summer on and off and each time I get the urge to come back, i lose it as soon as I read these arguments....it's all so futile. Hustler seemed to be the main culprit back at the beginning for me, but there will always be someone.

The more frequent posters should know better by now.

Supersub is of the opinion that Hustler was ManUtd, the member who used to scrap with CGGY.

He has a point about the IP address that you are mention. Unless his company has a large address space, he is probably being assigned a private address which is then being translated to a public address via the company gateway which is what you would see for any user coming from that corporate network.

With regards the content...some things on here are not footie related, but does relate to what fans talk about and you can't censor that if you want a real life forum. As for your kids.....the internet is not an entity that you can guarantee is safe for your kids regardless. I don't want to tell you how to bring them up, but I am sure that they are exposed to the same things in their school/private lives as they are on here.
