I hope the Johnson thing is a joke or Benitez trying to force Real's hand. I mean he has scored about 5 goals FROM PLAY this season which is ok for WBA.

Do you really think Chelsea, Manu, Aresenal are thinking "oh no, LFC are going to get Johnson and we're stuck with Henry, Van Nistleroy etc"

He'd do well to get a transfer back to Birmingham, that's about his level.

Anyone who thinks we should buy him should be shot as they must be a Manu fan in disguise.

Sorry, should have proof read, I know his at Palace as he was a make weight in Clinton Morrison's transfer (bigger fool them).

Second top scorer sounds great but remember when Steve Bruce scored about 18 for Manu, about 12 were penalties, take out the penalties and its much less impressive.

What Niall's trying to say (i think) is he's a good player, but nothing more.

Nowhere near good enough for this club if we are to seriously challenge.

I remember the arguements as to who had the best striker in the league, Owen, Henry or van Nistlerooy, Johnson will NEVER be in that bracket, we need someone who will or who will at least be there or there abouts.

Anelka anyone?

If we cannot have morrientes I would rather we went for Anelka than Johnson. He reminds me to much of Speedy

i get worried when players have a good season at a team like Palace. How do we not know this is not a flash in the pan, anyone Remember Armstrong and john Solarko (is that how its spelt?), both had ONE good seasons at palace then they moved on...both failed to make any impression on the premiership and were utter waste of money. I'm worried this guy is having one good season then will become the another Heskey....sorry but we need players with a proven record, not another 'Hollier' hopeful.

I'd take Routledge on a free in the summer, I wouldn't want Johnson, I think he can score goals but he is not going to be at the level of a title winner or a CL contender.

Routledge won't be free. We'll have to pay compensation.

If the price was right i'd have a look at him, he's got potential.

As for Armstrong, he was a very good player for spurs and in general but injury ****** his career up. Imo he would have become a superb player.

a few me my mates are spurs fans and they thought he was a 'decent' player at best, but never worth the 7 million they paid and never would have been a world class player....which is what we need up front

HAHA i just want to post this but he plays for crystal palace.

now i knew how you guys felt when i said something like this

you could look at what rafa could do to work with him, this guy is young and still easy to mould into a great player. The guys got the attributes, but right now with out the class manager he wont go to far.

Yeah Mountie, we felt you knew nothing about footie whatsoever!! Has anything changed then ??
