Why is Andy Johnson getting goals in the Premiereship if he is so ******? Who is he scoring against and how many has he got? That is the important question.
If a Striker can score against the likes of ManU, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool (on a good day) Everton (the way they are playing now), we should be interested. ie teams with decent defences.
On the other hand, all teams need players who can think for themselves, 'outside the box' so to speak.
Therefore Liverpool need players who can score goals against the boringly determined defensive teams.
We need Strikers who know where the goal is and how to put the ball in it.
We need Midfielders who are not afraid of scoring goals, or of even going forward and passing the ball forward.
We need Defenders who listen to their Goalkeeper, who know where each other are, and are not afraid of pushing up into attack.
We need a Goalkeeper who is competent and who directs his defence. The defence should not be directing the Goalie; HE should be directing them.
Does this type of team ring a bell?
It is the type of team we had in the 60's 70's and 80's.
It is the type of team Arsenal and ManU have.
Cudicini anyone?? He is a bloody good Goalie.
Kirkland needs to learn still. Dudeck(sp?) Would have been better off with Westerveld. At least we won stuff with him!!
