i'm pretty sure thats what benitez will do. the reserves'll play the league cup game, though maybe a couple of fitst teamers should play at least part of the game. i really thiink we should go out and get the league cup this year. silverware for the new bosses first year.

the FA cup game shouldn't be a worry either. we have tripped up at these kind of games in the past but i reckon benitez won't allow those mistakes. rest gerrard but give mellor and pongo a start together.

i really don't care much for the league cup, although saying that, i think reserves have done a good job and will probably see us to the final....which isn't bad seeing that Houllier use to field a first 11 for every league cup match... :glare:

I'd give Baros a run out in at least one of them matches just to give him some match practice, he'll need it after the few games off

Spot on, he needs games under his belt as he always need at least one game to get back into the swing of things...

If Baros plays it should be the Burnley game, give him a week or so between to rest if he needs it. I agree he needs a game, but we're deep in it should he come out of the Watford game feelin the strain. But hey, we all thought this prior to the Chelsea game and the players didnt loose us down.

I think as we go further into the League, it's worthwhile to experiment the combination the reserve and senior team. All we know, we really need them towards the end of the campaign. I think Rafa would like to play as many players as possible, throughout the season. It boost the players' confidence, I'd think.
